Re: Shadow War: Armageddon tactics and warband make up

Recon drones do not have a niche. Right now they are effectively unusable being shoot or move combined with BS2 and their extremely high price tag. My biggest observation even before I found out the shoot or move thing was the other two drones would have served me better playing the scenarios. Findi...

Re: Shadow War: Armageddon tactics and warband make up

Fluffwise pathfinders have been noted for their use of physical camouflage. I remember somewhere it was mentioned on Taros they hide in the hills under ghilli cloaks and laser pointed passing tanks for out of LOS seeker missiles and the Imps eventually had to send up someone to worm them out before ...

Re: Shadow War: Armageddon tactics and warband make up

I played a variety of armies on Saturday, my above was just for Tau. This one is my personal observations for everything I saw. Orks- Loved playing these guys. Most fun warband I played. Very powerful with low cost, high toughness, high strength, high WS stats. Yeah they have low BS, they also has a...

Re: Shadow War: Armageddon tactics and warband make up

Wow, totally didn't notice the recon drone had a move or shoot weapon. I don't have the rules at hand, are fusion guns heavy too? If so that makes the stealth suit totally useless and I played it wrong. I won both of my games but only because I played the mission and extremely unlucky rolls on my op...

Re: Shadow War: Armageddon tactics and warband make up

Played a few rounds this weekend to get used to the rules. PLayed my warband and both scenarios were complex scenarios. One limited me to 5 dudes with the secret mission to get across the board. Opponent had scouts with sniper rifles but only had four dudes. Predictably he split up his guys around t...

Re: Shadow War: Armageddon tactics and warband make up

Wrote the above before realizing there was an actual forum for shadow war. Anyway, firmed up a list. Man we are nerfed in gear compared to others. No camo? Really? One of the only races in the 40k universe that regularly uses camo as standard practice sends its recon teams who rely on camo and we do...

Shadow War: Armageddon tactics and warband make up

So somehow we have gotten a ship full of pathfinders and a few other guys somehow lost in one of our mini-jumps through the warp and coincidently ended up in the Armageddon system and for whatever reason, thought it was a good time to go easter egg hunting for promethium in the still occupied ruins ...

Re: Counter-Strike Cadre and Scatter Free Deep Strike

Couldn't you do the same thing with an Infiltration cadre? I don't remember it saying you couldn't bring a transport(could be wrong) You bring three squads of pathfinders anyway, plus two stealth teams and a piranha. I think it would be more effective support wise unless you really want to bring a b...

Re: Necromunda/shadow war: tau rules

Lets see, I was looking at a sgt with carbine, a regular pathfinder with carbine, recruit with carbine, dude with markerlight and carbine, a specialist with rail rifle, it is rapid fire apparently, and a pair of recon drones. I think this fits. Of course this changes with however specialists are hir...

Re: Necromunda/shadow war: tau rules

Odd since they are no longer leaks when the rules are physically out there in the public's hands at this point.
