Re: Gue'vesa Scouts

I would reccomend not using the female model, as I get a lot of flack IRL for using my 'fanboy-design' shadowsun. Those models certainly look a lot...you know, I'm just not going to go there. That is actually an interesting topic. In a culture like the US or Great Britain, I imagine the "naked...

Gue'vesa Scouts

As mentioned here , I am working on a gas-masked Gue'vesa army. My speed is slow, but since I worked on several things at the same time, I finished my pathfinders. Originally I planned to used those Death-Korps of Krieg soldiers as regular Firewariors. But since their usual armor is the same as a sc...

Gue'vesa Piranha (Kitbash, pictures)

I am "working" on a group of Gue'vesa. They're based on the models for Death Korps of Krieg (and others that use gas-masks) but uses the rules for Tau. This is the first actual unit I finished. It is a combination of a "Last Exile"-Vanship, two magnetized Tau-Drones, the nozzle o...

Re: Krootox Rider

They are very good when shooting at something with markers on it. Oh, I did not notice that: they can use marker lights now :) If you have the slots consider taking them in units of 1. This will be a small army, so there will be no problem with the slots. Also there is just _one_ Ogryn-Model that I...

Krootox Rider

Good evening, everybody. I am working on a small count-as Tau army. Story-wise they should be Gue'vesa, and I try combining a few nice-looking Models. I am thinking about integrating a modified Ogryn-model too, using the rules of a Krootox Rider. Now, the Krootox Rider has been a rather obscure choi...

Re: Creating Gue'vesa tanks

I have found this: https://www.dersockelshop.de/skoda-pa-ii-turtle-1-35_takom-models_tako2024.html It has the streamlined/sci-fi look of the Tau, while still consisting of "bolted" metal-plates. The model has the right size, has a really good quality and is easy to modify. I currently try ...

Re: Need a 3D modeller to help with 2d designs!

The drawings are tighter than I expected. Those would definitely be usable. Yet: Why would you want a new design when it is so similar to the existing ones? Different weapons? I like the details on front of the rump. But other aspects move more in the direction of a common plane. Might you be intere...

Might I ask for a look at these drawings and what you thought fitting as a "compensation"?

I know that posts on AdvancedTauTactica should be more substantial than that. But I just have to say: I love love love love what you have done with that "breaking news"-image! ...*think*... OK. I _can_ make this post more substantial than that. Let's participate a bit... ...*do*... Tada: [...

Re: New Battlesuits

The "design-vibe" they have is... unusual. It's like a déjà vu from something that might have originated in the eighties... I really like it. It works best in those photos where it is combined with other units from your army. Those other units give the design a "setting" and a co...

Re: The Small Game

If one scaled the gaming table down and placed a fixed web-cam filming it, it would be possible to play missions via skype (or similar technologies). The "host" of the game would have to have both armies, but could be anywhere, even overseas... That might be particularly funny if the host ...

unusual (and slightly historic) Commander-Kitbash

Did I ever show you this one? I made it about five years ago... I really loved the look. But it turned out that concentrating all the expensive weapons on your commander was not a wise decision, from a tactical point of view  http://www.jochenwinkler.com/content/stuff_for_forums/commander_a_00...

Re: The Small Game

A short while ago, a discussion here pointed to the kill-team-rules made by Heralds of Ruin . It is a rule-set quite like mortheim/mordheim or necromunda. But it is up-to-date, it has rules for every species (and then some) and it has optional rules to include vehicles. I never played it, but I am s...

Hovertank Work-in-Progress

When I choose the Tau, I did so for their beautiful tanks. Now, I haven not played in years. But it seems the only thing that's new is a battle-suit. And another battle-suit. And another battle-suit. And another... Well, there seem to be some variants of the piranha, but the piranha was never *beaut...

Re: Found an old Crisis Suit Leg Conversion and need help

The upper-half of the leg is original, but he switched sides. That is a left leg on the right side.

It is not quite part of the leg, but it looks like he cut horizontaly throw the torso and put bits of a drone in there to make it look bigger/more agile.

Re: Mix of Eldar and Tau Hovertank (first of two)

do you post a lot of your paint jobs on Deviant Art? I feel like I've seen stuff like this on Mantas on there. No, I do not. The starfield-theme is very common for people using airbrush. I guess that's because it is really simple and looks really great at the same time. So many people spray themes ...
