Re: New tyranids smite spam

You might try replacing the flamer suits with more fire warriors. One of the best defenses against mortal wounds is simply more bodies. You get more wounds, longer range, and higher strength shots. If that all sounds too "6th edition" for you, I would suggest a different loadout. Maybe dro...

Looks Great! It's great to see some love for stealth suits, and I especially love the cinematic photographs from the original post!

Re: Stealth Suit Unit loadout

I know it's easy to overlook Stealth suits with all of the other shiny units in our codex these days, but I do think they have some potential. In the Tau fluff, Stealth suits are rarely included in a Cadre's battle plans. They are a "wild card" that tends to show up when and where they are...

Re: Can we still field Breachers post-FAQ?

I believe that Breachers are still "fieldable" despite the snap shots. It appears to me that the FAQ is DIRECTLY targeted at units such as our Breachers, but not to nerf the units themselves. If anything is being "nerfed", it's the Jink rule. Jink was never intended to give a ski...

Re: [Article Submission] New Crisis Suit Names

Oooooh ^ that RIGHT there ^ I can definitely live with the idea of totally unique names for EVERYTHING (just another of my many many "two cents"). If everything is going to be super complicated anyway... it might as well sound AWESOME! I like the Cerberus name... and it really reminds me o...

Re: [Article Submission] New Crisis Suit Names

Not to be a bummer, but I personally feel that the days of Crisis Suit names are over. And as much as I will miss that, I think that it is for the best. One of the problems that I had with the naming conventions was that they really ended up being unit names, as very rarely did anyone kit suits out ...

Re: Oi'Kyse sept. Sunshark conversion

+1 Great Job!

I really like this conversion, it reminds me of the old Piranha rehash projects that people used to work on. Wonderful inspiration for the modelers out there. Keep up the great work and keep the pictures FLOWING! :D

Re: [ARTICLE SUBMISSION] Balancing Your Force Org

@TastyFish Then perhaps I need to adjust my own angle of trajectory lol Alright, so no "second draft" yet, but definitely some good feedback. Now, time for some "meta feedback" feedback :P It was never my intent when mentioning the six "bases" that those bases were cove...

Re: [ARTICLE SUBMISSION] Balancing Your Force Org

Good catch on the spelling error :D

And thanks for the swift response so far! :D I'll definitely have to take a step back at it and go for a second draft. And I'll see what I can do to put an example list in there too.

[ARTICLE SUBMISSION] Balancing Your Force Org

The basic idea of this article is to provide a basis on how to balance your points allotment for your army. The main premise being that (much like a diet) a balanced army is a healthy army. To help explain the idea of the balanced approach I have two metaphors: 1: The 45 Degree Angle -In the world o...

I once Tank Shocked Marneus Calgar himself into a shallow grave with my Fire Warrior Devilfish in order to grab the last objective on the last turn. Victory was sweet that day.

Re: Mechanized Tau 1500

This list has really come together. It looks really strong and appears to be a cohesive force! The last thing I will mention is watch for your stealth suits, as they are a very hit or miss unit on a player by player basis. If you feel like they aren't really carrying their weight don't be afraid to ...

Re: Anti-necron Tau, 1000 points.

Well that is quite the pickle that you find yourself in there: a more experienced player, with a newer codex! But do not fret, brave Shas'el! You are a Tau player, a servant of the Greater Good. And that means that you have something that your opponent does not... HEART. The battle you face will be ...

Re: Interceptor and Deep Striking

If you don't mind allies you could take a small detachment of Eldar. Instead of the default Farseer, instead consider an Autarch for the +1 reserve rolls. It even presents you with a modeling opportunity as the Allied Force could be modeled as Air Caste support! Take Guardian Jetbikes as your mandat...

I believe that the answer to this question has come. Q: Will tau troops ever be used in the attack? A: Yes Q: When? A: 6th Edition Fire Warriors just got several boosts... and while they might not be the greatest thing since laser-sliced bread... I for one am finally excited about using them again!

Re: Ethereal: Good Warlord?

I feel as though the Ethereal would be fine as a warlord but only if the 1+ restriction on the Crisis Commander was lifted. It appears at the moment that it is still in... thus affecting our own force org choices (i.e. two force orgs requires two crisis commanders), as well as the choices of other a...
