Re: 8th edition crisis suits

Another advantage is that Flamer completely ignore any to-hit modifier while it could happen very quickly for Burst Cannons to only hit on 5+. Yeah, the more I discuss Burst Cannons over Flamers, the more I find I'm talking myself out of them. I just don't know how effective Flamers will be since d...

Re: The run to 8th edition

I'm wondering what the "Jetpack" keyword means. No reference from what I've looked through. I am not liking the lack of jsj. I was about to unpack my stuff (stayed up late yesterday carefully boxing all my 40k models, paints/supplies and unbuilt kits away), but I think I will wait a while ...

Re: Balancing for a new player..

The way for chaos-or any "near" combat army to beat Tau is threat overload. My friend mains Space Wolves and Flesh Tearers, and he doesn't utilize their better units and I tend to beat him everytime (I run Crisis heavy Enclave lists with one, maybe two riptides but I got both configuration...

Re: Facing Khorne Deamonkin - Thoughts please

I love Daemonkin. Gorepack is 2x Bike units (3 minimum) with a Khorne dog unit (minimum 5), but you can have more-but to get the benefits of them, you have to have the two minimums. He's not running Blood Host (With the Possessed Tax) so don't let him con you into thinking he gets a free blood point...

Re: 1500 pt friendly, basically no suit list

For a friendly, Non Sweaty/Try-Hard game not too bad, though I always question putting pricey guns on a Buffmander, when a budget flamer would suit them better (if they are to be supporting until they finally go down-Last I'd read Crisis suits still couldn't overwatch with both their weapons and had...

Maybe I'm missing it...

But I'm missing the option in the codex for the 5 Hardpoint suit upgrade option for a commander that they talked about in White Dwarf. I've seen people post lists with Commanders with 5 options and nobody has corrected them...

Re: New 6th Edition Fluff

I've always seen Imperial, Ork, Chaos FTL tech as being like the FTL tech from the Halo series (slip/sub/warp-space jumps) where it's incredibly inconsistent. Eldar Webway FTL is like the Jump Gates from Babylon 5 (Physical-ish entry and exit points needed to the Webway) Necrons have Transwarp from ...

Re: Am I the only one who sees the Tau in this light?

Am I the only one who sees the great potential Tau had that might be wasted with the new codex? What I mean is that ever since I was introduced to the Tau (Forcibly by my friends so they could have easy wins), I feel you. You know what's good for that? Just focus on killing all the Space Marines yo...

Re: Tau Assassins.

I don't think they have assassins (like how the Imperium does). I think they may have specialist branches of the Fire caste who come and black bag some rabble rousers. Of course I've felt that the Fire Caste Head commander (Shadowsun at current) was sort of like the Arbiter from the Halo series. Mea...

Re: Interesting quirks of an Army

My first squad of Firewarriors I ever put together and painted have beaten Space Wolves in close combat more often than not. When The First step out of their fish they take back at least twice their points. If I need an objective held-I leave it to the First. The few games I've played with only one ...

Re: Pulse Weaponry Mechanics

I like to think that Tau's technology revolves around something similar to mass-effect technology (utilizing something like Element Zero or eezo from the Mass Effect series). Solid block of ammunition is sheared into grains of sand and then fired at a very high rate with a charged ME pulse resulting...

Re: Crisis Suits - Obsoleting the Fireknife [?]

Well...it's sort of our Army's bag to be able to have multiple weapons firing off our Elites (in the same shooting turn) it sort of feels like you are cheating yourself out of a way to be firing at least 2 weapons.

Re: Winning Tau Killteam

Tau can do some nasty, dirty things to other armies at lower points levels. Killteam and combat patrol will make lots of people quite sad in the face against tau. I'm guessing the Grey Knight player took the shiny new paladins and probably decked them out a bit too much? Grey Knights would be a hard...

Re: Neo Farsight Enclave

That dreadknight conversion looks really cool. It's just unfortunate Farsight's stats don't match up to the awesomness :/ For how awesome your creation looks, it should at least have the table-top equivalent of the Wing Zero from Gundam Wing. Draw a line of D-strength death through units and vehicle...

Yeah, but looks like it's a battle situation signalling to jump out in an emergency, Explain to me at what point do you bring a model to a game and not expect it to be a battle sitatuion? Is it not 40k's big one liner that says, "In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war!" ...

Re: BOLS Tau Battlereport

I've always held the opinion (from reading over the blood angels codex) that they are designed, and encouraged to be based around Jump-packless tank mounted assault squads since many of their tanks are...fast, and they are plainly an assault oriented army (where as Codex Space Marines are more shoot...

Re: BOLS Tau Battlereport

I get the feeling that the Tau player wasn't new to the game...but was new to Tau. It is very frustrating when people don't know the various wargear and options for our suits, and they don't seem to take the time to learn. Well, I suppose it's alright for just regular joe people to do that, but if y...
