Re: Full Army Paint Scheme, please help with naming

Hey there, First, I want to say that that is a killer paint scheme you have. I especially like the grey sections of the vehicles, as I've always had a soft spot for tiger-stripe paint schemes. :D Now, as to your questions on background. To start with, the sept logo you have used on your Crisis suit ...

Re: I'm afraid of painting Tau tanks.

Trying to imagine this: you're suggesting paint over the hull almost like in 'dragonscales', just sort uniform dabbing? I *hate* the smoothness of the tau vehicles for this very reason. Never looks quite right for me either. Sort of, with very thin paint. The dabbing would also need to include over...

Re: I'm afraid of painting Tau tanks.

If you don't mind, I'd love to hear more about how you did this! The whole 'several thin coats' thing I still have a hard time with. Painting whites, oranges, and yellows (and probably Tau ochre too, in the future), when I do thin coats it leaves streaks in the direction I brushed. To hide these st...

Re: Kakapo's Cadre Redux

Have to say, missed doing so before, but the shoulder work on the Shas'Ui us great. Nice marking details. Why thank you! It just goes to show what a difference three years of freehanding tiny Elven runes onto little banner flags can make in applying such details. So then, much has happened since th...

Re: I'm afraid of painting Tau tanks.

I don't really have any experience with using spray coats, as I do all my painting by hand, but I've found that the key to painting any large flat smooth surface is patience. The only real way to get such surfaces looking even is with several very thin coats. In my own experience I find three or fou...

Re: Quick question about Tau vehicles

According to Imperial Armour Volume III: The Taros Campaign (1st edition, but I don't think the background material was changed too much in the newer one), the crew numbers are as follows: Hammerhead = 3; Pilot, Co-pilot/systems operator (who also handles the secondary weapons) and Commander who als...

Re: A'kish Vior'la Cadre

Upon close inspection, it seems like two of the drones, one marker drone and one shield drone, use a special kind of drone base. Did you modify it yourself or is it from an alternate supplier?

And did I get the Internets?

Re: Athena

Welcome fellow Nightwish enthusiast! :) Least Favourite- Chaos of any variety, they always feel overpowered, especially in Shadow War: Armageddon. The really shocking thing is that Chaos is generally considered - as of the end of 7th edition at least - to be at an all-time low in terms of in-game po...

Re: Pathfinders, the unsung heroes.

See Pathfinders being a Fast Attack unit has always made perfect sense to me. They're forward reconnaissance units, meant to range out well ahead of the rest of a hunter cadre to scout out the enemy, and thus are more mobile than other units. Of course they'd be Fast Attack. Drones also make sense i...
