Re: A'kish Research Defence Initiative (Project Log)

I can't believe that after having looked at pictures of them since they were first released, I have only just now noticed that the default Riptide and Broadside models only have one helmet antenna. I largely agree with you about the conversion - it definitely makes the helmet look a lot more balance...

Re: (BFG) Farsight/Tau fleet - The Red Ocean

Mass painting Gothic is a challenge. GW and FW models also have different styles to them. That means different approaches to how to paint the scheme. One trick that many veteran Battlefleet Gothic admirals often use for mass painting is drybrushing. The way details are sculpted on many Battlefleet ...

Re: (BFG) Tau fleet- The Great White (and Tan) Fleet

More work in progress.... We are now sister fleets! We will rule the Gulf... ---- What were your thoughts on the third orca mount for the explorer class ships? I made one for the ship in the picture. But I am interested for the next explorer I build. Excellent! Together we shall show the Gue'la who...

Re: Kakapo's Cadre Redux

You remind me of myself. My story follows the same progress, although I didn't start at 6, I started at 14 and did semi-ok paintwork, but when I returned to the hobby last year, I was blown away by my ability to paint. I had no idea where it had come from! Your paint work looks phenomenal! I can't ...

Re: KX-139 Ta'unar Supremacy Armour discussion

People love to complain about the Nexus. They really do, forgetting that the damn thing has blind, and is a st 10 ordnance weapon. Yeah it won't erase titans but it WILL flash-fry mobs, especially nids, orcs and guard. I think the reason why people tend to gloss over those attributes is that with a...

Cyanoacrylate is the fancy technical name for the active ingredient in superglue. Any superglue should have it in it.

Re: (BFG) Tau fleet- The Great White (and Tan) Fleet

Got to be the single largest Tau fleet on the planet :D Great idea for the neutral cloth to photograph them - quite envious of the kor'vattra haha. The scary thing is that if it hadn't been for the demise of the Specialist Games in 2013 it would have been even larger... The general system I've used...

Kakapo's Cadre Redux

In Darkness, We Are The Light The 42nd T'au Guards Cadre Welcome everyone to this, my long-awaited return to 40k. It has certainly been a long time coming. A long time ago, in a toy store far, far away, a 6 year old boy (at least I think I was 6 at the time, my memory gets quite fuzzy around th...

Re: Hamwarmer 40°C

If you're open to alternate styles of base, one option could be an iron oxide desert, which would be predominantly red earth and rock (for reference, the surface of Mars in real life is essentially an iron oxide desert). It would fit with your colour scheme and would be simple enough to do, using ei...

Re: Babies First Army: And you can too!

I think the current base style you documented in the last photo works really well with your chosen colour scheme - it might not fit the tan accents, but it fits the primary colour perfectly, which is probably more important. The greenish tuffs also provide a good contrast with the darker gravel (and...
