Yes, yes we have.

Re: Athena

Welcome fellow Nightwish enthusiast! :) Least Favourite- Chaos of any variety, they always feel overpowered, especially in Shadow War: Armageddon. The really shocking thing is that Chaos is generally considered - as of the end of 7th edition at least - to be at an all-time low in terms of in-game po...

Re: Pathfinders, the unsung heroes.

See Pathfinders being a Fast Attack unit has always made perfect sense to me. They're forward reconnaissance units, meant to range out well ahead of the rest of a hunter cadre to scout out the enemy, and thus are more mobile than other units. Of course they'd be Fast Attack. Drones also make sense i...

Re: Aren't the Kroot rather like the Tyranids???

Funnily enough you are not the first person to have noticed this - one of the earliest pieces of background lore about the Kroot was a short story about a Kroot kindred ambushing some Tyranids (Genestealers, if memory serves), and sensing that they had a similar MO. It seriously spooked the Shaper a...

Re: Are Burst cannons useful anymore???

OK. I never really understood what the Strength and Armour Piercing values did. Back in 5th, my table group just decided that we'd play and just roll for hit and wound. I have no idea what happens with strenght and AP. The rulebook isn't actually that helpful... Under the old 3rd edition paradigm (...

Re: Once again, Oh Star of Mine. - A Speculative Tau Short.

Funnily enough this is actually very similar to my own explanation behind the Ethereals that I came up with a few years ago, with the main differences being in various details regarding the 8th edition stuff (which I'm still largely ignoring) and that I had the 'departure date' much, much further in...

Re: Are Burst cannons useful anymore???

Well, there is a new edition coming up, so who knows what that will do to them. However, for the current edition, the big problem with burst cannons is they don't really bring that much to the table that other units can't. Finding S5 AP5 shots is something that the Tau have never struggled with - Fi...

Re: 8th Edition - Official Tau Faction Article aired!

Did anyone notice that the Weapons Skill for a Sniper Drone is +5? How can they justify that? Is it a typo or ... wait a minute ... it's Games Workshop. Never mind. TauMan Remember, WS and BS skill values are flat to-hit target numbers now. If I understand the current information on the new e...

Re: Kakapo's Cadre Redux

Kakapo42 so that's where you've been? Wondered what you were up too. Wow, now I feel quite inadequate in the painting department! :-( Funnily enough I often feel somewhat inadequate myself when it comes to painting. All too often I will look through a project thread on here and think to myself &quo...

Re: Shadow Wars: Rules Feedback and FAQ

[list=1][*] Pathfinder teams are expected to suffer high attrition rates whilst performing vital work for the Greater Good. Ultimately, the list ought to represent a plucky team operating largely on daring, against terrible odds. [*] Tau combat doctrine does not generally support individualism (tho...
