Re: 8th Edition: The Eye Opens

The real interesting thing here is that with the Imperium's forces effectively cut in 2, Guilliman will be looking elsewhere for help. Being the most diplomatic Primarch who's door do you think he's gonna be knocking at next?

Re: MKJump - Profile

Hi MKJump, First off, I'd like to be the first to welcome you aboard the community here at ATT. We're a pretty diverse group and all share different interests in the game but we do all have a love for Tau in common. I want to see what your scheme looks like and am excited to see more fresh blood amo...

Re: Painted R'Varna Cannon has Bent

So I have a technique that I use where I heat it up with the hot water but then I also shock it after with cold ice water. When I do that I have never had a piece move again. Don't know if that if anyone has ever tried this but as far as it goes for me it always works. It tends to stabilize the res...

Re: Winning Without the Riptide Wing

We also have the option of taking allies. I've found my favorite Royal Court Formation from my Necrons army to be of particular effectiveness against the riptide wing. The court slaughters Imperial Knights like they were kroot, so Riptides aren't much harder to kill for them.

Re: What Allies do YOU take?

Well put it this way...the court basically is the beef of the army. They soak up the firepower, they dish out the most damage. The best thing about Tau is that they are universally unchallenged in their ability to kit according to their role on the battlefield. You need a counter? You got em. What I...

Re: [Project Log] Shas'o Dre's Farsight Enclaves Cadre

Love it. Looks like a big bad transformer jetplane. I will admit the placement of the Ion Accelerator looks a bit odd, but it works. The remora wings are a nice touch. Lastly I love the white strip you painted in the gray panels.

Re: Fighting against Imperial Guard: Best Strategies/Tactics

Here's the key to beating IG. Get behind him. Anything str 5 or higher dominates everything and anything IG related. Versus Infantry you wont habe to worry about them as you wound them on a 2+ and they get saves. Their tanks will get no cover, no jink, no saves (barring invuln) against most things T...

Re: Custom tau females and "rambo" like guy

It's already known that female Tau look mostly the same as male Tau. Just look at Shadowsun and we even got a female head in the Firewarrior box now. ;) However i will get one of the skimpy dressed female Tau one day just to have a Tau pin-up esque model. I won't use it in any army list though. :D ...

Re: Eye of the Storm - Competitive Tau list construction

Yeah i just checked it myself. Looks like i was thinking of something else. Damn. I would imagine the one you may be thinking of is the Necron Overlord Special Character "Anrakyr". His ability "Mind in the machine" is essentially the same thing except not a psychic power and sta...

Re: How Should I Base My Stormsurge?

Wow that's a pretty nice paintjob. Love the glow effects of the weapons. Great suggestion on the melting. Would be a little worried about fumes but might try it. There are plenty of masks out there you could get that are cheap. Otherwise you can use a hair dryer or heat gun that will melt it withou...

Re: How Should I Base My Stormsurge?

Seem like option B is winning. It is of course the most difficult one to pull off. All the votes for it has gotten me thinking just how I'll do it... ... and I just thought of something awesome... Well I've never done it with a baneblade but you can check my Cadre WIP log for some inspiration. I di...

Re: Question about support syste with type of suit configuration

It really depends on your meta and how big a target your commander is. Like Panzer, I try to beef up my mark'o commander as he is my main source of marker lights, and hence he draws a lot of attention. I always take shield generator and stims on my coldstar commander. I've only used him a few times...

Re: Starting Tau in a small escalation league.

A Fireblade is a good option for a small army list, however as you are going to need to think about future points increases you may be better off finding a way to fit a xv-8 commander or ethereal in there instead. The Fireblade is somewhat limited as far as uses for an HQ will go given the bonuses o...

Hi Advent196! Couple things... one - Welcome to the greater good! Always to good to see fresh faces join the empire. two - I love the base and the overall scheme you have. You have a solid start to your army scheme. three - There is a way to save your ethereal from mold lines if you're willing. Gree...

Re: possible 8th

It's not hard to see where the fluff is headed, with the beginning of the return of the primarchs, the awakening of the dragon (most OP C'Tan) and the entire Galaxy turning their gaze on the loyalists of the imperium. I've also wondered about the possibility of the return of the "Old Ones"...

Re: Is this too cheesy to play? 1998

Generally lists like these are fun to play once or twice, but generally no one will play anyone at my lgs with lists like this. I'm more or less limited to 2 MC when it comes to Tau. Fun list though. FYI too though, you might want to rethink your strategy when it comes to sitting way back out of ass...
