Re: 3D print extra parts: Stormsurge, Riptide, Piranha, ...

I know what will be in the hands of my commanders in due time!! :) Would it include the entire unit or just the blue section in the 3D print? How is the smoothness and detail compared to reference? The grey part is the original fusion blaster body minus the 2 small boxes (assembly pins) on its side...

Re: Greenstuff + bluestuff= lots of CIBs

I did some mold work about a year ago. I was using a similar thing to blue stuff except it was from Japan. I did a 50/50 mix of greenstuff and greystuff by Milliput. The mixture becomes more ridged and it more easily sanded. I wrapped a rubber band around my molds as well. As Panzer said, you have ...

Re: 3D print extra parts: Stormsurge, Riptide, Piranha, ...

Thanks. Magnet slots are to be provided once the parts would really need it (at the moment, they are just barrel replacers). The problem with predrill magnets is the size and number to add: some (like me) use 3x1mm with (or without) a steel pin, others 3x2mm, others two 2x1mm, and I also saw once a ...

Re: 3D print... OOP models, Enclave fan-fiction modifications

Nice to see another 3d modeler. You may want to contribute to our 3d resource thread http://www.advancedtautactica.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=25004 . PM to AgentArrow to update the OP. A side note concerning OOP models: GW is likely to still hold the (c) on them, so be cautious if you offer the mo...

Re: 3D print extra parts: Stormsurge, Riptide, Piranha, ...

Damocles symbol can be done. And added to pads too. Since it is not an already made sept symbol I have, it takes a little time to do, maybe with a small fee (based on the number of pads, decreasing for large amounts). For lord dirk weapon designs, you may ask if s.he is agree to allow them to be don...

Re: 3D print extra parts: Stormsurge, Riptide, Piranha, ...

:) Nice design. The big problem I have with it is that the GW concept of the burst cannon is flawed. The barrels go from wide to smal, if you would prolong the lines of the barrels they would toch. That would be the sweet spot to kill some one. If the target is farther away the bullets from the top...

Re: 3D print extra parts: Stormsurge, Riptide, Piranha, ...

man Kael'yn. That cowl variant I am loving more than the current Burst cannon design. it still shows that it's a battlesuit burst cannon yet not exposing the barrels to being destroyed by even a stubber. guessing the slots on it are venting ports so the barrels won't heat up? Actually, I reused the...

Re: 3D print extra parts: Stormsurge, Riptide, Piranha, ...

If Burst Cannons will ever become viable on Crisis Suits I'll for sure gonna order some from you. A Quad Burst Cannon Commander would look pretty badass. :D That's why I remade a BC Hazard from a CascadeFusion one : not enough dakka ! Here the alternate BC cowl I am working on (left on the pic): ht...

@ Ironsky Now you have solution if you need to do more BC :) . @MikeMurdoch Thanks. Custom head are something I am working on (someone asked stealth helmet for crisis). Any design you think that would be cool could be shown. Hands for crisis were asked before. Since they could be found in Commander ...

Take your time, there is no way I can get to any hobby time at the moment, so if you put it at the very back of the line that might work best for both of us! No pb. I just wanted you to know that I had not forgotten your idea. That makes sense, mine are for personal use. I haven't got round to doin...

@MODELGLUE Thanks. (And I still have some design from you that I intent to made once I will have a Crisis done in 3D) @AgentArrow Thanks. I ebayed some stealth BC once to made a TwinBC Hazard from my Cascade Fusion, but these kind of bits are hard/costy to found. @Ironsky Thanks. Actually, when I se...

Re: 3D print extra parts: Stormsurge, Riptide, Piranha, ...

Hello fellow Tau players. I started to build some crisis suits yesterday but I prefer the stealth barrels to the gatling style Burst Cannon. So I made some stealth covers for BC (new crisis-size, but must probably be compatible with other BC) to be 3D printed: https://images1.sw-cdn.net/product/pict...

Re: 3D print extra parts: Stormsurge, Riptide, Piranha, ...

Thanks. Actually the riptide sized hand are a little difficult to assemble with the tiny fingers. So creating a crisis full customizable hand will be a pain. The commander plastic kit already provide different hands that are fine. Unless you need more hand poses, I don't see the need to do crisis ha...

Re: 3D print extra parts: Stormsurge, Riptide, Piranha, ...

Thanks. The Sentinel firepoint is not really cheap in 28mm: more than $300 in frosted and even using the maximum tricks (multiparts to keep the overall volume low, providing only the outer shell and not the central pivot, floor plate, guns, ...) the price will be too much in the better material. A t...

Re: Modeling Tau Females - a discussion

Personally I enjoy the fact that T'au troops can be either gender without it really needing any adaptions to the models, its also great that GW have started including female heads in the Fire Warrior kits, as well as the ghostkeel pilot. Basing the T'au fluff of not keeping families together in a w...
