Re: What is Ta'lissera? Cultural and Personal Importance

The Tau Concept of Family I don't want to re-what I posted on Can Gue'vesa take part in Ta'lissera? ; but you check my post on that thread from July 21st , and there are quotations from Fire and Ice by Peter Fehervari; Shadowsun: Last of the Line of Kiru by Branden Campbell; and a reference to Fire...

What is Ta'lissera? Cultural and Personal Importance

Dear Tau'fann This is in response to two other current discussion threads Can Gue'vesa take part in Ta'lissera? and Children of the Tau'Va . Can Gue'vesa take part in Ta'lissera? is self-explanatory; but Children of the Tau'va , covers the topic of child rearing, education, and age and maturation le...

Re: Can Gue'vesa take part in Ta'lissera?

Fire and Ice by Peter Fehervari, 2016, 2017 ebook Black Library ‘Farsight,’ he murmured, testing the name as Lieutenant Omazet might have done. ‘What’s in a name, xenos?’ ‘To a tau, everything,’ the alien replied. ‘Bloodline and sept, caste and rank and conquest. Re: Can Gue'vesa take part in Ta'lissera?

Isn't ta'lissera common to all tau, no matter the caste? The ritual of ta'lissera is a tradition of the fire and earth castes. In the first ever Tau codex, Codex: Tau is a short story of the ta'lissera ritual. And shorter version of the same story appeared in the second codex, Tau Empire . And I sw...

Re: Can Gue'vesa take part in Ta'lissera?

The bond is mainly a symbolic thing, if I understand it correctly, it creates (or confirms) an idea in their minds that they trust each other so much they'll allow each other to severely cut each other, a situation where one wrong cut could kill with ease. So it isn't some magic(warp) ritual, it's ...

Re: Alternative Fire Warrior Heads?

Heads like these? http://zealotminiatures.com/zealot-shop ... ry=6272033 They also make a male head. And female torsos. Warning about Zealot miniatures - their female heads are smaller than the regular size Tau heads, and only look right on Zealot's female torso. Which is okay, if you want booby ar...

Sa'cea Mont'yr Okay, so you're one of the old timers as see your rank is Shas'El, and I've seen your posts over the time I've been here; but didn't know you wrote. I did a Library search to find your posted stories, but it looks like you haven't written anything for awhile. When did you last write a...

Re: Little Flags

Joe5952 this is a a nice little tutorial. One suggestion about the look of the finished "flags", if you took the little scissors, and before painting them; trimmed off the rounded ends, they would look a bit more real. The thing about green stuff and modeling is that there is always a trad...

Sniper Tau I didn't know what Inquisimunda was, so I looked it up and found the website. Here it is the link for the rest of you who don't know what it is: Empire of Ghosts: Inquisimunda . Xhmm...there are a few types of teams I could think of right off the top of my head. 1). A Tau Water caste merc...

Thanks for waking me up to other possibilities for photo sharing sites. I know folks post photos of their models on Imgur and alike, but I never think to do it.

Ah, one more thing on the "to do list".

Nic, Arka0415, and CmdrCASh - Thanks for all the compliments! However, I think the battle may have moved to the desert. I hear Games Workshop is heading for Tobruk, and then on to the Suez Canal. But we'll be prepared, they've just called up Shas'O'R'Shi to command all A.T.T. ground forces. http://i...

Re: Anyone nostalgic for the run-up to 8th Edition?

Now that we're in 8th Edition, even though it's just as clean, streamlined, and fun as it was promised to be, I feel nostalgic for the run-up to the release. The blurry leaks, the new models, the frantic rumors and wishlisting. I much prefer having the release in-hand and playing, but... that year ...

Book Review: The Arkunasha War by Andy Chambers By TauMan Introduction: I have trying to get caught up on all the Tau stories and novels that are available from Black Library. Re: Return to 40k

Ah, some of the newer fluff, must of missed it? :? I didn't know N'dras had a colour scheme, as you can paint your army whatever colour you want. My idea for N'dras is less mysterious, and more...um... neferious . More like non-violent piracy, racketeering and money-laundering, smuggling, and dealin...

Ghost of N'Dras Welcome to the A.T.T. Orbital! First in the Membership Profiles is a questionnaire template, which you can copy and paste into a post. It's a great way of letting other members here know about you and your interests. Second what a cool name - Ghost of N'Dras! and just to let you know...
