Re: Tau Win Percentage Log

There's a TON of Tau players on the Tau Facebook group, and getting their feedback would help a ton. I tried doing something similar a couple months ago, and just about every single person was against it though, so good luck.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

T'au weapons are generally stronger than every other faction though. That's the trade off. For giggles you should play a game where all your troops are BS3 and see how you do. That's the thing that might have changed though. The thing that stands out for us is Pulse weapons, which provide a meaning...

Re: Uplinked Markerlights and traditionally "overcosted" units

How does the heavy bombardment hammerhead compare to the broadside in this light? At already BS3+, they would be BS2+ with the exact same loadout. TX7 Heavy Bombardment Hammerhead Gunship [10 PL, 239pts]: 2x Smart missile system, 2x High-yield missile pod XV88 Broadside Battlesuits [9 PL, 202pts] . ...

Re: Competitive list utilizing new CA rules. Been winning games with it.

Also, you mention using Drones to good effect, but your list barely contains any. What are you talking about? Oh snap you're right. This is an early version that I had saved. I copy pasted the wrong one! There is only a slight change: ++ Outrider Detachment +1CP (T'au Empire) ++ + HQ + Cadre Firebl...

Competitive list utilizing new CA rules. Been winning games with it.

First of all, I'm not taking the heavy bombardment hammerhead because of the reprinted points updates in CA. It's simply my favorite hammerhead variant that I often use with great success. Is a vastly more durable, BS2+ broadside (with longstrike). 1996 points. 10 CP ++ Outrider Detachment 590pts ++...

Have you noticed Tau always seems to have a "crutch" unit?

In 7th edition, if you took out the riptide entirely from our codex, including it's ridiculously powerful formation, we would have been one of the worst armies in the game, maybe not bottom, but definitely among them. This edition it's the commander. He is such a crutch, that whenever I see a list t...

Re: Forgeworld Rules Index outdated (or am I wrong?)

And don't listen to people who say Forgeworld is OP and should be banned. They make some powerful models, but they also usually cost a ton of points too. Normal GW stuff has it's powerful things just as much as FW. If the commander was a FW unit, everybody would cry that's it's OP and shouldn't be a...

Re: TX7 Fire Support Hammerhead Gunship Discussion

I've played it once with dual burst cannons in a 2v2 vs AdMech and AM. The AdMech had mostly infantry in form of skitarii and the AM mostly tanks...our lists had comparably few anti-tank and part of it got nuked in their alpha strike so we concentrated on killing the Skitarii and that one Guardsmen...

Re: Tiger Shark AX-1-0 Discussion

I'd much rather take half of it than pay 619 points for all that. With missile mods, burst cannons and the rail cannons, it's 583. Not sure where you got the 619 cost. Also, lascannons are some of the most efficient tank hunting weapons in the entire game. I would trade a lot to have them on my Tau...

TX7 Fire Support Hammerhead Gunship Discussion

I hope you guys don't mind that I'm making a couple of these unit discussion posts. I feel it's important to drum up some attention on some of these units that don't get as much of the spotlight. This is especially true with the Hammerhead variant, the TX7 Fire Support, as I think there are some tru...

Re: Tiger Shark AX-1-0 Discussion

Ok, so it is clear you are confusing the two different Tiger Sharks. The Fight Bomber is what you are talking about, and it has a different weapon load t, and costs over a hundred points less. The AX-1-0 does not have weapon loadout options at all, and comes with two S18 Ap-5 D2d6 gubs., The heavy ...

Re: Tiger Shark AX-1-0 Discussion

How would you field the AX-1-0? Being just over a quarter of a 2000 point list, is it worth it for a dedicated heavy unit killer? You would basically be killing one thing a turn with it, so unless those thing are very pricy, it wouldn't be worth the points cost, in my opinion. Would you only bring ...

It is not a lord of war.
It is not Titanic.
It is Forgeworld. However I've never seen a place that doesn't allow forgeworld.

Re: 3D print extra parts: Stormsurge, Riptide, Piranha, ...

Has anybody ever considered a 3D printed conversion for Piranha that gives them a closed top, similar to the Stormsurge we have here? I've always through they would look pretty badass with a sleek cover that can go over the area where they sit. Probably would need to remove the guys in it for it to...

Re: Can't decide on a color scheme. Please Help!

White is one of the hardest "colors" to paint on minis. I recommend getting an affordable airbrush setup, total of about $70 for it. It's what I did and it changed my world. Otherwise, I would make your base coat with a spray paint that goes on thin, and then wash and weather from there. B...
