Re: Tactics Against Imperial Guard

Yeah, I think in general Tau 'strategy' has to amount to 'erm, wait for the codex'. ;)

Re: New Tigershark AX 1-0 Images

If you like, I'll snap a pic tonight. They are glued in place now, but they are the same size as the taunar one i believe. I'll take a few snaps and post when i'm back from work. Cool, thanks! Hm, I thought it would've come with more guns to magnetize, though on reflection that's for another varian...

Re: New Tigershark AX 1-0 Images

Ah, very nice! Any chance we could see the size of the railguns, placed next to another model for reference? If you like, I'll snap a pic tonight. Re: New Tigershark AX 1-0 Images

Anyone ordered the new model? If so, any chance of pics of the pre-assembled components once it arrives? :) Sure, I'm at work but happen to have some on my phone from my WIP last night. Note that I'm still waiting on the pilots, because apparently they didn't bother making any before putting up tha...

Re: Concrete objectives

I was never a fan of victory points. I've always wanted to play a game where objectives grant you benefits, such as capturing a satellite dish and getting better deep strike. Does anyone know of a source where I can get alternative objective rules? You could handily just do a game about capturing e...

Re: How are you liking the new addition compared to 7th,6th,5th, and 4th

There's some stuff to nitpick, but overall, yeah, I like it, Tau rules aside. It does feel more to the point than some of the tiresome bloat of 7th. Just placing down reserves feels so much more actually tactical than just rolling for them to come on, rolling to see if they come in from there, rolli...

Re: Revised head design 3D

The new suits can be bigger than the old ones, if you mount the torsos as high up on the waist dome thing as they can go, and put them on tiptoes. Then it looks pretty good. :)

Doubtful. Early next year more likely, though.

Re: Modeling Tau Females - a discussion

I just use the female Tau heads that come with some recent model kits, and paint then a shade of cyan as opposed to the dark blue I do males, so they stand out. :)

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

What I want: Different sets of Markerlight bonuses you can pick from. Some Sept that doesn't allow you to take Markerlights, but units have the BS bumped up to 3+. Or even just a general rebalancing to have all Suits and vehicles be BS 3+. Given the limit to MLs now it makes sense to have a higher ...

I doubt we'll see a codex this year, Tau are a pretty hated race. Even by GW

Tau also sell a crapton of models. I think it's safe to say we won't have to wait too long.

Easy conversion, it's just a drone with some multi-tracker gizmos to be glued on the bottom. ;)

There are apparently special Manta types to deploy larger battlesuits like Riptides and Stormsurges, so same principle.

Re: 8th edition battle report Tau vs Ultramarine 50 power ratings

Well if you don't understand how superior movement is useful it's kinda hard to explain. :D Don't ge me wrong, I got the concept, just the firepower that regular commander brings on the table is overwhelming. :D Yeah, it's sad, when everyone hits on 3+, except the shooty army. :D What was the final...

Re: Welcome to the T'au Empire, no longer Tau

It's pronounced the same and T'au has been the homeworld since the beginning, so it at least makes some sense. Not really a big deal all things considered.

Re: The run to 8th edition

Frankly, let's all get some games in, and then maybe wait for the real codex/battletome/big ol' Tau book to come in before making ranking judgements.

EDIT:Hell, I remember people calling doom and gloom over the 6th ed codex...
