Re: Farsight Enclave Supplement Hardcover...

Both the FAQ and the ebook state that the exception to the Commander's team is with the Signature Systems rule listed above it. It does not say anything about the 8 not counting towards what is taken from the FE Signature Systems. Absolutely. The point I was referring to was that the basic rule abo...

Re: Is piranha "Feeding Frenzy" tactic still viable in 6e?

Alright, so after reading the disembarkation rules a few more times, I think I've figured out how to make this work. Surround and/or charge the vehicle and destroy it. If wrecked, they have to disembark (or emergency disembark). This requires you to place models in contact with the hull, at least 1&...

Re: [Article Submission] Offense: Keeping Your Enemy Off-Balance

1st major revision now complete. I'll try and knock out the remaining turn-by-turn sections later today. Thank you all for your comments so far, and in advance for further suggestions. Any suggestions, either conceptual or nitpicky, are appreciated. Although nice for the ego, I get a lot more out of...

Re: [Article Submission] Offense: Keeping Your Enemy Off-Balance

Good points all around. I'll move the unit discussion to the end of the article to start. @CariadocThorne: This is true. Against an enemy static army, especially one that likes to deploy very clustered, there are considerable advantages to just attacking them from the board rather than going through...

[Article Submission] Offense: Keeping Your Enemy Off-Balance

Revision 1 now complete. Still not finished, but there's more meat. New layout, some important edits to the front, but once you get to the unit review section it's essentially the same. 0 - Introduction Traditionally, the Tau stereotype is a very powerful gunline. A traditionally skilled Tau player ...

Re: Subforum Renaming: What would you do?

There's actually a single sentence atop every sub-forum page which gives an brief one liner on the purpose. The fact you've missed it one every page we have, tells me it needs to be bigger. Not at all! I'd vaguely remembered their existence and found them again without trouble. The problem is that ...

Re: Subforum Renaming: What would you do?

I think the specific threads likely to pop up will almost all be tap-dancing on that line, so probably best to just have one forum for discussions of dangerous enemy units/builds and good allies; the same things that make them scary to us will probably make them good allies. Another thing I feel we ...

Re: [Article Submission] Piranhas & Positional Play

This is excellent. Having just picked up a pair of Piranhas, I'm very happy to see this. Especially the Destroyer Lord example, one of my friends does something similar with an unkillable Space Marine HQ leading a lance of terminators. What did you use to make your spiffy little diagrams?

Re: Subforum Renaming: What would you do?

I'm rather fond of Bitterman's revised breakdown. +1 from Dal'yth. How you attach the explanations is probably dependent on what all you can do with the forum encoding, but I absolutely agree; they need to be there.

Re: Subforum Renaming: What would you do?

Some other 40k sites have a thing where slang terms are automatically highlighted, and if you mouse over them it tells you what they mean. We have considerably more slang than other 40k sites, and most of it is unique to us (although some has bled into other forums; "Deathrains" in particu...

Re: 6 Riptides @ 2500

I would assume the purpose of the comm array was to outflank all your Kroot, and then keep as many of them as possible from coming onto the board until turn 4? By which point you should have vaporized all serious anti-infantry fire your enemy can produce? It's not a bad start, and one of the few pla...

Re: Kroot: useful in 6th Edition with latest Codex? (Redux)

They're going to be great when Nidvember happens, but until then... they take some getting used to. I use them to scare my opponents, mostly; their guns have sufficient volume of fire to glance vehicles to death from the rear, or overwhelm small scoring units left behind. Simply having them means my...

Re: ShadowShrike, and the new Marine rumors

Flakk Missiles are actually only S7 (For Chaos, but it'll be the same), so they're actually very much worse. I wonder what the HP ave is for vanilla vs IF marines. Don't forget that in the two codices where Flakk Missiles can be taken thus far, you have to pay almost the cost of two missile launche...

Re: Black Legion supplement available on iTunes

As far as which Elites moved to Troops, it could have been a lot worse for their opponents. Terminators and even Possessed would both be VASTLY more dangerous as Troops units than Chosen are, and actual Black Legion players could already use Chosen as troops with Abaddon. Admittedly, that would requ...

Re: Sniper Drone teams

Although I find they have nothing to do against Guard gunlines. They can't scratch the tanks and even with 9 shots they're pretty ineffective against basic squads. I may need to add some more Spotters and use them as a Marker squad. Shooting them against basic squads might actually be more effectiv...

Re: Are we boring to play against?

I somewhat regularly play against a guy who never seems happy when playing the game, even when he's winning (he did giggle terribly when controlling the invisible Stompa, though). Ask him later, and he says he loves the game. I don't understand it, but there it is. As has been touched on, there are ...
