Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Except you guys thing the answer is double tap when standing still. And that's sully, the HH whole point is supposed to be MOBILE superior firepower. Rail weapons don't need more shots. They just need the *BAD WORD DELETED!* to hurt a hell lot more. They would be utterly terrifying on impact, but la...

Wait WHAT?!

He is THAT big?

Seems a whole lot bigger than my finecast commander. did they scale it even bigger when moving to plastics, or am I imagining it?

Re: TX78 Skyray Gunship

Actually, it's even easier than that. Hammerhead and skyray are interchangeable even without magnets, you can simply pop out and back the turrets. The railgun and ion cannon are also easily interchangeable without any magnets by simply not gluing the gun itself (some blue tac or whatever can help it...

Re: Hint about the fourth sphere's location?

I suspect the 4th sphere will kust be scattered everywhere to give excuse to how come Tau armies are fighting things on the other side of the galaxy.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

It just feels like whoever made the rules didn't even bother with tau honestly. We didn't get our guns updated beyond the pure mandatory minimum, keeping profiles identical or making the most lazy ports ever without thinking about the effects it might have. the fact our wargear overlaps so much with...

Re: markerlights helping own unit

To put it even more specifically. Technically, each shot is made on its own. we roll in batches because it usually does not matter-but with markers it CAN. For example, a marker hit can improve the hit chances of another marker. So you can (and should) roll your skyray markers one at a time, and if ...

Re: Heavy gun drones

A-not FAQ, they can target properly. one can assume the added bulk gives room to add a better target priority computer B-You allocate to the unit, not to a model, therefor you have to stack the wounds up until one dies. As for the advantages of the HGD over a squad of 3 gun drones and 1 marker drone...

This is the third time I've heard "big, not quite tau." What the heck does that even mean?

I assume it would be some sort of auxiliary?

Re: Chapter Approved Leaks Discussion

Not sure what deathstar has to do with things, the XV84 should be the ultimate chicken.

Never engage, keep out of trouble and hidden in your ranks and be annoying with random missile hits followed by a marker overload.

Re: Chapter Approved Leaks Discussion

Well, other codcies getting toned down would only really help us if our issues were limited to external balance. Unfortunately, our index internal balance is also poor. The codex can't come soon enough. My only saving grace with both my codcies being far, is that later codcies seems to be better wri...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Custard makes some sense. It's a tiny release, that nearly nobody cares about. It can be easily released along another codex. But doing clowns and dark eldar when they got a big presence in CA, while necron and tau that got a minimal presence are later would he very strange. Especially considering D...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

The assumption that tau are very close is that exactly 5 factions are missing point changes in CA Blood angels-who are coming even before CA Dark angels-who are also before CA Daemons-who are declared to be the first codex of 2018 Then there are necrons, and tau. So the logic is, the two are most li...

Re: Chapter Approved Leaks Discussion

Ok, the relic and trait 2 are both slightly more impressive than expected. I'd like to note Ralai (FW) also enjoys the trait very much, though he sets up some marker support so he might get along without it. In any case, CA is a bit of a disappointment. It would not have taken them much to add a sin...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

No it wouldn't help because re-rolls happen before modifiers. If a commander with this warlord trait shoots at an Altoic ranger then he would score a hit on 4s but re-roll only 1s (because the 2s and 3s would not be failed hit rolls when the re-roll happens). Correct and it's for that reason I'd mu...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

The relic also gives a 1/6 to generate a CP when the opponent uses one, so isn't bad. Some others get far worse. As for the Reece case, it's not the coordinated firepower, that one was a bummer, but rational. It was the outright changing of rules of the firestorm formation and the ghostkeel under ve...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Sad part? this is miles ahead of what my other army (thousand sons) is getting according to the same rumor source. At least the relic does a little, and the second trait helps a coldstar quite a bit (if you would even warlord a coldstar X_X) A stratagem I'll never use, because at the moment I really...

Re: Charging, faq, errata, and command point reroll conflict.

If a rule causes you to reroll the RESULT you reroll all dice.

The stratagem does not reroll the result, it reroll one dice, regardless of what kind of dice abs what it does.

In contrast, an ability telling you to reroll charge range reroll the result itself, and by such all dice involved.
