Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Marines are a bad example, because wolves CAN play as count-as codex marines, or blood angels, and be mostly fine in the meantime.
They won't have all their special toys, and will have to settle for the bland vanilla options, but they'll have a full set of stratagems, traits and such

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

So, custards and thousand sons? As a thousand sons/tzeentch player myself I don't mind the double-down of daemons followed by thousand sons, but I could have placed money on Tau and Necrons being after daemons. Then again, technically speaking TS didn't have any point adjustments in CA either-just m...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

The idea is pretty interesting, but I don't see GW doing that.

If they did though, with a rebalance of the guns themselves to cost about the same but have different efficiency against different targets-it could be quite cool.

Re: Tau -Overlooked Most OP Army?

2 good units does not make a good army. Breachers I don't count, as they got the obvious issue that they are only good if they are "cheap and threatening" as they are not fast nor durable, and while the fish helps with speed and durability-it throws cheapness out the window. Basically they...

That actually looks pretty good.
I should get a few of these if the codex makes the devilfish useful.

Re: TX78 Skyray Gunship

Wait, are these any different from the thingy in the bottom center of the devilfish/skyray/hammer anyway?

Because by that logic, we can simply not put that round thing down there, and use it on the turret when we want a devilfish, or just keep it off when we hwhat a hammer/skyray...

Re: TX78 Skyray Gunship

Actually, it's even easier than that. Hammerhead and skyray are interchangeable even without magnets, you can simply pop out and back the turrets. The railgun and ion cannon are also easily interchangeable without any magnets by simply not gluing the gun itself (some blue tac or whatever can help i...

Re: Commander keywords

Actually, it's not the same suit.

Its the same base, but the enforcer suit is bigger, can carry more stuff and is generally tougher.

Its like comparing two modern tanks of the same family but different marks. Same concept, but not quite identical.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

Except you guys thing the answer is double tap when standing still. And that's sully, the HH whole point is supposed to be MOBILE superior firepower. Rail weapons don't need more shots. They just need the *BAD WORD DELETED!* to hurt a hell lot more. They would be utterly terrifying on impact, but la...

I suspect the 4th sphere will kust be scattered everywhere to give excuse to how come Tau armies are fighting things on the other side of the galaxy.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

It just feels like whoever made the rules didn't even bother with tau honestly. We didn't get our guns updated beyond the pure mandatory minimum, keeping profiles identical or making the most lazy ports ever without thinking about the effects it might have. the fact our wargear overlaps so much with...

Re: markerlights helping own unit

To put it even more specifically. Technically, each shot is made on its own. we roll in batches because it usually does not matter-but with markers it CAN. For example, a marker hit can improve the hit chances of another marker. So you can (and should) roll your skyray markers one at a time, and if ...

Re: Heavy gun drones

A-not FAQ, they can target properly. one can assume the added bulk gives room to add a better target priority computer B-You allocate to the unit, not to a model, therefor you have to stack the wounds up until one dies. As for the advantages of the HGD over a squad of 3 gun drones and 1 marker drone...

This is the third time I've heard "big, not quite tau." What the heck does that even mean?

I assume it would be some sort of auxiliary?
