Re: What happens to the attached gun drones if a devilfish dies?

Negative. The explosion only affects those on the table at the time. They are not on the table until afterwards, as per the faq.

Re: New Hammerhead for Ol' Longstrike (WIP)

That's a pretty great way of making him stand out! Would work well if you wanted him to be inside, too.I can't bring myself to have the tank commander exposed.

Great paint work, too!

This seems to be the correct interpretation to my mind, as well.

Re: The run to 8th edition

Off topic, I know, but here is some good coverage of Warhammer Fest. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/05/27/warhammer-fest-live-blog/ It does have a lot of the 8th edition pages on it, and what looks like an interesting new Crisis alongside the Y'vahra, as well as the two new Tiger Sharks. ...

Re: The run to 8th edition

Drones are described as having squirrel equivelant intelligence independently. Networked together, they get much, much smarter. Drones are also described as being programmed to sacrifice themselves to protect the Tau soldiers. The Ghostkeel AI you describe is on a whole other level, borderline senti...

Re: The run to 8th edition

This assumes Markerlights stay the same. There's a lot of assumptions going on all over the place. We really can't assume ANYTHING except what has actually specifically been revealed. Anything else is not but conjecture.

Re: The run to 8th edition

Considering that he was effectively brought back to life with the help of the Eldar, it makes sense. I suspect that he understands that Chaos is by far the greater threat now. A unified Imperium needs to happen before they can return their eye to conquest. If ever they do. Also, this would explain t...

But they don't even jump, do they? They just walk. I see no reference to jet packs at all.

Re: Shadow War: Armageddon tactics and warband make up

Don't forget that Photo-Visors don't work if the user moved. Be sure he's not subtracting from your cover if he's moved. That said, we're pathfinders. We're a scout force, not a front line fighter. Seems to me that we'll have to be sneaky about how we play. Lots of hiding and overwatch to set up amb...

Re: [WIP] Sa'Cea Recon Cadre

The shooting bit about hiding is under an image break. It was kinda jarring my first time reading through. It's there, though.

Re: [WIP] Sa'Cea Recon Cadre

Oh, I know it's practical. It's just a fun thought experiment. ALSO! I don't know if anyone's already brought this up, but could we not Hide and use our Markerlight at the same time? The only requirement seems to be that you can't Move or Charge and that if you shoot, you are no longer hidden. Marke...

Re: Shadow War: Armageddon tactics and warband make up

I think the idea, though, is that it makes the sniper independent. He's already not moving in order to use his weapon,so he's really capitalizing on that fact while using the markerlight to support the others in the kill team. The Recon Drones, for example, could really use the help with their BS 2,...

Re: [WIP] Sa'Cea Recon Cadre

As funky as dice can be, honestly I'd prefer the two guaranteed shots over d3 shots. If there's one thing that X-Wing has taught me, its that you should take control of the dice results where you can so it doesn't bite you later. That said, our Carbine carriers with Fast Shot? Oh hells yes. That wou...

Re: [WIP] Spec Ops Tau - SWA Kill Team

I had actually never noticed the bunch of Photon Grenades tucked up under there. It would be neat if that could be represented somehow. I imagine it's just carrying extra kit for the Pathfinders like a mule. Something like if a model is within so many inches of the Drone, they can reroll their first...

Re: [WIP] Sa'Cea Recon Cadre

Imagine getting Sprint, Gunfighter, Fast Shot and Hip Shooting. Running 12" and then still being able to shoot 2d3 shots. :crafty: Just as a note: Gunslinger disallows combining with Fast Shot and Crack Shot, while Fast Shot disallows combining Crack Shot. Still, 2 reliable shots isn't bad vs ...

Re: Necromunda/shadow war: tau rules

I certainly would. I don't post much, but I do enjoy lurking. A place to go for seeing peoples' kill teams, batreps, and thoughts specifically for Shadow War would be neat. Also, just because, this is the list I've been toying with: Shas'ui, Carbine, Markerlight, Photon Grenade Specialist, Rail Rifl...

Re: Necromunda/shadow war: tau rules

This is something I hadn't even considered when going through the rules. Makes me consider my eldar, harlies, and scouts even more strongly over my pathfinders. Even so, I feel compelled to give them a go when I get a chance. I'll must have to hug the cover and take advantage of my markerlight acces...
