Yeah, if you go to any art supply store they should have it. Some parts of the world call it White Spirits.

Re: How to paint panel lines?

I find commercially bought washes and inks to be crap. Particularly the GW ones. I've had great success with oil paint, particularly on larger models, but also on smaller ones. A little oil paint mixed with mineral spirits/white spirits to make a wash, slather it on and let it partially dry. You can...

Re: Orange Sun Sept - Deet's WIP of awesome things

Hello Orbital, It's been a long time! I've been away from the hobby in general for 7-8 months as I moved twice, got married, honeymoon, etc. Made painting a bit tough. In what little hobby time I've had, I've largely been neglecting my Tau boys, but no more! It's a small thing, but a good way to wor...

Re: Heavy Rail Rifle

I vastly prefer the look of the HRR, but with the help of K'tano's early thread I made some changes to the setup so that I could run the HYMP without it looking cheesy and wound up here: http://advancedtautactica.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=22034&p=277361&hilit=hymp#p277361 I think it's WAY...

Re: Welcome to ATT 2016

Noticed the header doesn't link back to the home page, and a good percentage of it doesn't link at all. Intentional? My usual reading pattern is to look through the Recent Topics section, but that's harder to get back to now. Anyone else? Again, beautiful work guys. I know how much goes in to it and...

Re: Ta'unar Magnetizing Question.

For what it's worth, I've always drilled my magnet holes by hand. I have a dremel, but it's too easy for something to go wrong with a power tool when you're working with tiny handheld parts- whether it's destroying the part or taking a chunk out of your hand. Pin vices are cheap, readily available, ...

Re: Airbrushing beginner, need specific application tips

As you may be gathering, there is no set optimal distance. Air pressure, paint thickness, paint opacity, and how far you've got your trigger back (how much paint you're pushing out) all come in to play. Most of the time for base coating, I'm around 25 psi. You're just going to have to learn paint th...

Welcome to another CA gent!

I actually created a Blogger site just for my image hosting. Seems to be a bit more stable than some of the others, plus it's easier to upload to from my phone.

Re: Transport Case

I have a Sabol case that I like a lot. I buy the foam uncut and then custom cut them to fit my figures snugly. I always magnetize my models, but usually just for weapon options. For my Tau, the largest I've put in there is a Broadside, but I've fit a Stormraven in with the wings magnetized and store...

Re: Figuring out my new Tau Scheme

Looking good. Liking the grey and green. I might do up one of the two black areas on his backpack in green too so that you get a little splash of color 360 around the model. Kind of wishing I had done that on mine now.

Re: Drilling Barrels

do a quick search for Micro Drill Bits on Amazon and you can find plenty of good sets for <$6. Many come with the pin vice.

Kael'yn's reco of 1/2-2/3 of the diameter is a good one.

Re: Painting Boredom

perfection is the enemy of done This^. I went to design school, so let me tell you I can be a bigger critic than anyone, especially when considering my own work. It's really easy to go down that rabbit hole. Don't. I can't tell you the number of times I've unpacked models in a store and had people ...

Re: Painting Boredom

Some great tips in there. The thing I'll add to the mix is to read painting blogs, books, etc. Seeing how other people do cool stuff gets me inspired to try out new things and makes you feel like you're a part of a bigger hobby. For me, I struggle most with motivation when I'm not playing, but getti...

Re: Hiddencamel's Classic Cadre: Magnetised Broadsides

^^ This is the reason I take the time to magnetize everything. Yes, something may be crap now, but who knows about the next codex or the one after. I'd rather not be breaking old glued models to get them up to current standards.

Re: Hiddencamel's Classic Cadre: Magnetised Broadsides

Just saw Ifrit's question on my old post. Rather than bring that thread back to life, I'll just answer here. If you're having issues with sagging on the railgun, you probably don't have enough magnets. I used two 1/8" magnets to keep these straight. Looks like yours worked out well too!

Re: Hiddencamel's Classic Cadre: Magnetised Broadsides

Hey, I jacked it from K'tano to begin with. All I really added was the sheath over the railgun. Glad it worked out for you though!
