Re: 9", Buildings, and charge distances.

And that works with Grapel Launchers but not with Fly? I don't understand the question, what works with Grapnel Launchers but not with FLY? They work differently. FLY allows you to ignore terrain and intervening models meaning you move the shortest possible distance ignoring everything between. So ...

Re: 9", Buildings, and charge distances.

You need to deploy more 9" from the enemy. Period. And you measure from the closest point of a base to closest point of a base (baring units with rules that instruct you to measure from the hull). You do this fully in 3D space, meaning diagonally if you have to. This is how ALL measurements in ...

Re: Budget airbrush & garage compressor setup advice

Clean water won't be enough (it doesn't remove dried up paint). You can buy specialized air brush cleaning solutions or just simply use alcohol (note this may reduce the life span of the rubber O-ring in the brush). In any case, you will still need a physical cleaning tool. You can buy airbrush clea...

Re: Savior Protocols Inquiry

As far as I know, no clarification or FAQ about the issue has come out. I doubt the codex itself will address it, BUT we should get an FAQ two weeks after the codex comes out, so I guess we should start bombarding the community people about this so they can put it into to the new FAQ.

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

But I still don't like the whole "1 per army, has to go to characters" rule. It's not flavorful like it is for every other army. And if they just copy our signature systems without giving it a second thought, we will only be able to take a single fusion blade for our entire army. But's th...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

The problem with asking for patience is that I see space marine models come out practically every month. I want that. Every month is a tad-bit overstatement, and if you ever start a space marine faction I think you will realize that only a fraction of these "space marine models coming out ever...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

[Thank you for your post. Yes, this was the essence of what I was getting at. I'm glad that I got through to at least someone. I think most of us understand- you made excellent points and I think they are certainly valid! However, we're still worse off as a faction without JSJ, which puts o...

Re: Upcoming T'au Codex

They haven't released a single tau kit ever since I started playing. And that was in 2016 if I'm not mistaken. But that's just how 40K releases work. :D There are factions (imperial and chaos too) that have not seen a model release for far longer. Warhammer 40K has currently so many factions that i...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

Getting things taken away from you sucks, there is always a sense of missing it when it's gone. But what it seems like GND was really getting at was that it's an emotional response. When you take a step back, calm down, and think about whether or not JSJ was really good for the game, you'll probabl...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

I originally left this thread because there are obviously people that are very passionate about JSJ without any interest in changing their opinion and I didn't feel like having my knowledge of the English language insulted and my points ignored. But things seem to have calmed down, so I'll just thro...

Re: Ranged Superiority: How much would you be willing to pay?

A Broadside behind two Shield Drones is quite durable, basically proof against anti-infantry fire and decent at taking anti-tank fire too with the Shield Drones. With that advantage, and the key T5 that makes almost nothing wound on 2+, I feel like it could be a solid, survivable unit. Oh I thought...

Re: Ranged Superiority: How much would you be willing to pay?

How much efficiency would you be willing to sacrifice to have a range advantage over your opponent? I would be willing to sacrifice a lot if only for the change in list flavour, However the biggest hurdle I have a hard time overcoming isn't PPW efficiency but rather survivability. A less efficient ...

Re: Darkstrider and Phased Ion XV9

The 5+ still apllies though when you get the +1 to BS, since the rend happens on the hit instead of on the wound for the phased ion. Sadly the wording is "on a hit roll of 6" not "6+". So markelights will not increase the chance for it to trigger. It will just trigger on natural...

Win a Ta'unar Forge World competition

I don't think there was a thread about this here, so for those who haven't heard, Forge World is holding a competition this month. If you spend £50 or more on a order, you will have a chance to win a titan. There is a different titan up for grabs each week. This week it's the KX139 Ta'nar Supermacy ...

Re: Revisiting CIB Builds (Again!)

I stopped using 3xCIB and favor 2xCIB + ATS because of 3 reasons: 1. I find that spending 30 points on drones to make a unit everyone wants to kill more durable is better than spending 30 points on 9 shots on a unit everyone will want to kill even more. 2. With how cover works in this edition, 2+ sa...

Re: An Appeal for Jump-Shoot-Jump

Counterpoint Jump-Shoot-Jump is neither a tactical, skillful nor complex mechanic. It's an easy-to-learn, easy-to-master, all-upside mechanic with mediocre depth and as of 6th edition (when it was changed to 2D6" instead of 6") it's no longer guaranteed and should be called a gamble rather...

Re: Why so much hate on the ghostkeel?

The Ghostkeel isn't terrible at all. However, it has the same problem that all big Tau models have right now- it's durable but doesn't output much firepower. For 200+ points it'll get you two Fusion hits on average, or 3 Ion and 2 Burst hits. This means that using an anti-vehicle loadout it'll deal...
