Re: Mont'ka 'Alpha Strike' list, 1,500 Points

Well, my notes of this list: ⋅ I was never a fan of the burning eye suits (TLPR), though I will admit they are rather good anti-meq. I would have gone for bladestomres though (PR/BC) Also, you should downgrade the vre, the blacksun adds little to a unit of such ranges, and the drone is not...

Re: Farsight and forge world restrictions?

By pure rules, you have no restrictions on forgeworld models except the regular ones.

Heck, if you want to take it further, you can also have allies. even orks.

Re: Agents 1500 mechanized

While it's true that shield drone provide a 4++ and copy the T4 of the commander, the gun drones are cheaper, so you can field more of them for the same cost (or an many for cheaper if you don't want a larger foorprint), add a bit of firepower, and enjoy the SFG of the suits granting them stealth an...

Re: Agents 1500 mechanized

Well, its a nice concept, and a pretty interesting list. but I can see a few flaws in it with things that re not as effective as they could be, upgrades that are pretty much useless, and If you intend of teaming the shas'el with the stealths, you will be better served with gun drones then shield one...

Re: Anti-necron Tau, 1000 points.

Made some more changes. Deathrains get TA instead of flamers. Broadsides got separated and upgraded a bit. Commander improved to Shas'o Firewarriors split into 3 squads. I figured I probably wont need the flamers, as I pack a lot of anti-infantry guns around, and there is no promise for scarabs or d...

Re: Anti-necron Tau, 1000 points.

Took the advice so far into consideration I rewrote the list a bit, turning the deathrains into heatwaves, (rewinded the HQ change, recalculation showed I made a mistake.) Now, this means I got 79 unused points. as I see, the things I can do with them: (just discovered list elements usage :P) ⋅...

Re: Anti-necron Tau, 1000 points.

A barracuda also completely ignores the fact I posted what my available units are and that it is NOT one of them. (nor do I plan to ever get one. far too squishy for my tastes, and not all that killy.) Firewarriors could be an interesting though, forgot they actually have a chance there (damn i wish...

Re: Anti-necron Tau, 1000 points.

It seems everyone votes for heatwaves for the potential scarab issue, and generic anti-infantry role, but it still leaves me questioning: Then what will handles his scythe? and what of the models I have available will make a good addition after I shrink some suits to heatwaves? (I already got some p...

Re: Anti-necron Tau, 1000 points.

Haven't though of massing up flamers, and I think it will surely take him by surprise, but I don't know if I have the bulk of suits to make it happen without giving up on mass of plasma I think I need, or dwindle down the deathrain AA/AT support. Also, as I lack further suits, making flamer suits wi...

Re: Mechanized Tau 1500

Firestorm is poor against MEQ. If any switch to bladestorms, they are good against MEQ, TEQ or hordes. you might have to come close, but not any closer then a helios would anyhow. I would not recommend piranha, they are a one-shot unit, with that one shot not being so great to begin with. they may s...

Anti-necron Tau, 1000 points.

Well, it appears I am in a bit of a sticky situation, and I figured this new section will be the best place to help me resolve it. The situation is as following-my FLGS runs a conquest-based campaign, and one of the other players has challenged me personally, and as such I must either reply or he ca...

These seem sweet.
I think I'll steal your fusion->missile concept, it looks much better then the real MP.

But, whats the deal with the blades? what do they represent?

Re: Flogger

Well, at the very least he is honest.

I wont recommend 60 FW though, we have no clue how good they will be next codex, let alone if you will want 5 full squads.

Anything more then having 36 ATM seems plain risky.

Re: Interceptor and Deep Striking

Honestly, I think broadsideing the gun is the best bet. After all, you will find yourself with broadsides lacking enemy armor to shoot at quite often, and most lists wont run both the defense line and a lot of armor. Also AFAIK they can't do it more then once a turn, so if you deep-strike multiple s...

Re: General philosophy: protect what you have or have more?

My point of view is this: have as many cheap guys as you can from everything-with the exception of the warlord that should be pimped up as much as humanly (tauly?) possible to ensure its survival, and I'm talking on making it a shas'o with a stimulate injector, either a shield generator or 2 drones,...

Re: The Way of the Firewarrior: Ninja Tau in 6th

By my interpretation allied unit CAN benefit from the PRelay. Not only that, but another army with just an allied force of Tau can use it as well. However, as a Tau purist (don't even use kroot/vespid, even when kroot were decent.) I would take it as a whole-tau force, where the backp towers for the...

As for your advice, it seems a bit pessimistic, isn't it?

Re: shas'la Davou

Welcome Danvo, to the glory of the greater good. About the battleforce-may I add that you may also want a hammerhead gun spur to go with it? the devilfish is cute and all-but the hammer is the real thing-and with it you can actually run a serious army right out of the box. (a small one, but still a ...
