Just so everyone is aware, I'm having trouble re-coding the website to get it to open in under 20 seconds.
For now, I'm considering thinking outside the box for those who want the sound effects without waiting.... so here is an OFFLINE option. It's an OPTION
They can choose to have the album preloaded on their mobile device. What I'm proposing is to use iTunes and the like, to offer the sound effects.
Does this mean I will stop trying to recode the website to load under 20 seconds, no way! No one invests that much money and time in something if they aren't whole heartedly intent on offering that solution permanently. No the website stays. I love it. I love offering that experience
The primary means of getting the sound files onto your device is still through the website channel, where I prefer to offer the experience for free. That's my choice, given the opportunity.
So... Offline... sigh.... ok, please don't pick up your torches and pitch forks just yet... this is an option. Yes I own the sound files, so legally yes I can do this. There are some sound effects that have (Bruce Cambell) and original DOW voices, those originals are not in the music track list. So there should be no claim of copyright. No eyebrows wrinkled. This is just straight up - royalty free content, that I have purchased and lovely put together for you guys.
The track names are of course: Abbreviated and generalized, so as to be used in any
"generic board game". Obviously folks here will use it for their own purposes, for the army of their choosing.... So as an option, it is more legal than you might first think.Timothy's Effects
Is offering this OPTION
cool with you guys? (Hey I'm asking because you guys are the same ones that I've been developing the sound effects for) (Your thoughts count!)
I realize this option is not for everyone, and I want to make sure you guys know this too. But it could exist as an option, for those who want this.
Here is the blog regarding this option:http://tauempiresoundboard.blogspot.ca/2015/12/offline-access-to-sound-board.html
Please note that the minimum iTunes Album charge is 10 bucks (That's what I've been told). So, if you guys are cool with it, 31 sound files for 10 bucks. (PS: My cost is an avg total of $23 PER sound effect... I've made 31 of them...) Not that I'm justifying it, but just help keep things in perspective. It's a small fortune to make these sound effects. Anyone else there wanting to do this too, is going to run into the same costs and time. That part sucks, to be perfectly honest.
