Good stuff, man. Don't feel too down about the lack of comments. It's against the rules to post a short affirmation without anything to add.

Regarding the battle music, maybe break those tracks into individual tracks/videos, to allow people to customize or switch moods on the fly, or a method of jumping to mid-video using time-stamps. I'm not sure if YT timestamps work on mobile platforms, though. There should be some more attribution for each on the youtube page itself, unless these are original compositions, in which case attribute as you see fit. WarhammerTV youtube channel has some Tau Model announces on it, and each one has a unique, "Official" Tau soundtrack. I don't think GW has an in-house sound design team, so those tracks might be available independently to a sound hunter. If it is in-house, maybe one of the designers has a soundcloud or something.

Ah that makes sense. Thanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate someone giving me feedback. Oh, by the way, now that the sound board is starting to look and sound good, I'd like to share our ATT sound board with DakkaDakka and other related websites. Kinda like ATT marketing. Hehe... make em jealous! Anyways, it would be fun to promote this project, as it was first resurrected and perfected within the community of ATT! :biggrin: :D :D

The YouTube efforts... may aim is to make a thread for this actually. These ideas are very useful. YouTube thread (I just don't have the time yet) (The Storm Surge needed a complete sound redo - as it does not have a railgun)...
YouTube ideas:

Central Idea: Battle music length aimed at 1000pt / 1500pt & 2000pt games.

1000pt: (45min battle music)
5min: Authentic Tau Empire inspire song
8min: Setting up model music (thoughtful music that not too much action)
25min: Action music / with a mixture to keep things fresh
7min: Resolution music / victory music - Pump music to play another game

Secondary idea:
Music is in the Mech / Anime / Battle / Pacific Rim / Mechwarrior genres to maintain the "Sense" of Tau. (No rock, or Goth-Rock genres for Tau)

Third idea:
Have vocal ques to let the players know how much time is left. (Like BIG BEN clock)
Every 15 minutes a RailGun fires... or something that is recognizable and something that instantly reminds people of Tau. OH! like the sound of a flying GUN drone saying the time in TRON "YES" "NO' voice overs.

4th idea:
As you mentioned: have youtube markers that can be clicked on to get to different places in the song, instantly. Yeah... I don't think that works for Mobile.

Important:
It would be ideal if the music player did not overtake the mobile device and still allow the owner to play battle music and still access the Tau sound effects.

Anyways... that project will keep me busy for a looong time. LOL. - I made a youtube channel to take care of those efforts.

All of this reminds me of Zombie 15'. They did something kinda like this, a soundtrack that intensifies as it goes, with a zombie roar every couple minutes to keep the pace.

Broadside Rail Gun has been updated. It was not as interesting as it should be. Getting into WarHammer, and my continued joy of Tau pretty well centralizes around the Broadside with its Mighty Railgun.
I wanted to have the "EAT SOME GREATER GOOD" line, with a rail gun blast.

PS: The railgun should be a lot worse that it is... in 40k. It would be really nice if a model takes a wound from a RailGun on a 6, it is merely removed from play, immediately. There is nothing left to do a silly invulnerable save.

I think it should work on Ubuntu...? :? Hmmm.... maybe try loading the website (It probably will take long to load?) if it loads.... hmmm :-? ..... the website is programmed in HTML5.... :? it should work Insanepony? I mean theoretically.

Major revision coming to Tau Sound Board.

1. The loading time seems to be an issue for some.
2. The Amazon banner is getting annoying and it's time to toss it.
3. The page loads without correct zoom. Meaning... you got to zoom in manually.

Sigh.... so....

Will have to reprogram the page from scratch under a different HTML5 template.... This is a big project, however the website will appear much "Tighter" as far as loading time and overall user experience.
Programming..... Argh. I hate it. Thank goodness for youtube and online tutorials.

Keep an eye out my friends... should be 1 week from today, you will have a band new (literally) website that functions much much faster, and zooms into the proper size right away.
PS:... ANYONE OUT THERE GOT A SOUND BOARD EXPERIENCE TO SHARE?? has anyone used it? or shown it off? or annoyed your older sister during dinner time? please! share.

You can even make it up, I don't care. LOL. I love stories

You are welcome man! AND hey! I think I got the sound files to Cache on your mobile device now, so you should be able to play the sound files without internet connection ;) :biggrin:

Major update guys.... I just RE-WROTE the whole website.
I've tried very hard to make the website load faster.... using asyncronose loading of the JSON scripts and using 24hour browser caching. (This stuff is new to me - I'm not a programmer).
Trying my best... I think I have the Sound files set to a 24 hour cache. So once loaded, you should have 24 hours before the HTML asks for the files again.

Hi guys,

Just checking in.

I'm curious to know if anyone is interested in helping out with the RipTide sound board thread?

I'm looking at the Ghost Knell unit and it's unique Ion weapon. Seems to me there are now several versions of the Ion weapon across the Tau armoury - including the new Supremacy walker.
Also there is a High Yield version of the burst cannon that grabs my attention.
There is also... a bonus project I was thinking about - 4 Explosions (Highly interesting explosions - like for vehicle destroy sound effects) (One of them being a Land Raider... another The Necron Monolith) (One of them a flyer being hit and crashing) You get the idea.

So.... WHO EVER RESPONDS BACK FIRST - With what ever sound effect: GETS IT. - But JUST ONE of the ones below:

1. Ghost Knell Ion Raker
2. Supremecy Walker Tri-Axis Ion Cannon
3. Supremecy Walker Fusion Eradicator
4. Supremecy Walker Pulse Ordinance Weapon
5. High yield version of the Burst Cannon

I've added an "Explosion" button. This way when you fire a weapon, you can follow through with an explosion. Especially if you roll Vehicle destroyed!

Hmm.... I'll start with what I think an ion weapon sounds like when overcharged first and work my way back. I don't know why but I've always had this perfect idea in my head for what an overcharged effect would be.

I imagine an overcharged blast to be a low charged sound that build up in intensity like a generator charging (not too long though), the shot sounds like a hissing cutting attack since its burning air particles, and then very quickly followed by something akin to an explosion as a large blast of ionized particles vaporize an area of effect. So a mix of an explosion and the hissing sound I mentioned. It's a strange weapon to describe.

So working my way back from that I would leave out the explosion effect for the non charged version and not make it so strong sounding. The Raker on normal firing I would imagine almost sounds like ta furious roaring burning cavalcade of sound from the sheer weight of fire. More bursty than sustained unleashing salvos. It's got a similar sound to the overcharged mode when it impacts but minus the blast qualities. It's our second fastest firing direct energy weapon at a quick glance so just short of a minigun level of shots. The Heavy Burst Canon I would make sound like burst canon minigun. Then its nova reactor turns the mini gun up to 11!

I got faith you can translate my words into a great sound. Even if it requires some artistic interpretation. If I've said too much just take the key words you need and go with it, and if I've said too little let me know.

I wish someone gave me this feedback earlier. Having different sets of PulseRifle fire is a crucial component to any army. It's the infantry factor of the army.

Well, better late then never! :biggrin: :D

Now we can specify a close proximation of how many PulseRifles we are firing!

PS: Still not fully satisfied with the broadside sound effect... I've done another one. I think this is.... my 12th one so far. This one.... is my favourite now. It's very simple, and gets to the point fast.

Any sound effects currently on there, that kinda resembles what you are imagining?
The Ion Cannon that currently there is due for an overhaul.... which means remake from scratch. I do kinda like the way it sounds, but if I'm going to build a base sound for all Ion weapons.... well... I should make sure the sound effects are correctly assembled.
