These box sets usually have all you need to make whatever variants for that model that exists. For example, I purchased the Kill Team bundle that has the TAC squad and Firewarrior Squad. Both SM and FW came with all you need to make whatever you wanted.

I would be surprised if this box set came with only one set of plastic for one version of the Commander model as it is not the norm.

Lastly, it seems like these sets usually come at a discount such that buying the bundle is cheaper than buying those models separately. It might be worth it to pick up a few models that you need, then sell the spures you don't need on eBay.

Hell, no! I magnetize the heck out of my models!

My magnetizing-rampage had its' pinnacle while building my XV8x Commander:

- The "hats" (Coldstar/Enforcer headshells) are magnetized
- The Coldstar Weaponry is magnetized
- The Thrusters are magnetized
- The Coldstar fins are glued

Hardest part was to find a pose which fits both characteristics.

Anyway, I know the box is not shipped before 10th of december but there are also no leaks yet on the formations' rules. Or my google-fu left me :D

I ended up pre-ordering last night. Can't beat the deal on this. Kind of hoping some family members spoil me these holidays and I end up with a second box ;p

Still waiting on the formation details/bonuses, hoping it's something interesting. I'm just getting started with Tau, they seem to have a lot of decent/different formations. My main army is Tyranids and our formations are joke.

For those who are curious BoLS appears to have the rules up.

So long as the Commander is on the table one unit from the formation can make a 6" move at the start of the turn. If it does not make its normal move then it counts as stationary. Neat enough for pathfinders or the broadside I suppose.

I suppose I could give the 6in move to the devilfish.... And whatever I put in the devilfish...

Well .... it's a lot of tax to give the Pathfinder or the Broadside pseudo relentless.
Considering with the same models i'd already have half of an Infiltration Cadre + some which sounds a lot more fun to use or most of an Optimised Stealth Cadre + some which also sounds a lot more fun to use plus also is LOT stronger....no i don't think i'd ever use that formation.
The box value is still incredible though, so pick it up if the models are still on your list.

Doesn't Ambushes and Feints already give pseudo-Relentless, more akin to the 5th Ed Slow and Purposeful?

Yes, it would be hard to argue against the Hunter Cadre being both more flexible and having better rules than the Targeted Reconnaissance Cadre.
