Real first name: Gregg

Age and gender: Male 30

Location: Sunny South Africa

Occupation: Engineer

How did you get into wargaming? - Ever since Highschool, I have a passion for model building

How did you get into Tau? - They had just been released and I liked the aesthetic as well as the playstyle.

What would be your second piece of advice (after "read the freakin' rules") to a new Tau player?
Don't let the meta absorb you, try knew things and experiment with strange and wonderful list combinations! It is through this way that new strategies are found!

What is your Tau colour scheme?
Light and Dark Green

How did you find this site/the old site, and how long have you been a member?
I was a member on the site very long ago, but it seems that was wiped. I have rejoined the fray with the new edition!

What are the origins of your ATT username?
Ah, Temporal Distortion, stuck between wave fronts of time I register as a small timespace anomaly on your sensors

Have you reviewed the ATT Membership & Forum Rules?
Yes

Where and how often do you usually play?
Once a Week or so at local clubs or my dining room table

Do you have any other armies, for 40K or another system?
Necron
Chaos Iron warriors
Malifaux - Outcasts & Neverborn
Infinity - Pan Oceana
Sigmar - Vampire Counts, Skaven, Orks
Firestorm Armada - Rense System Navy
Warmahordes - Cryx, Convergence

What is your favourite and least favourite army to play against?
I'm very tired of fighting Ultramarines...
I love to play against experimental lists trying crazy things!

What is your best and worst 40K moment?
Best moment - A fluffy moment of sending out a herald, asking my opponent to "Surrender bloodlessly" before the game starts. Always ends badly for the herald.
Worst moment - Some of the more competitive games a tournaments.

What does/do your family/significant other/friends think about your 'funny toys'?
She thinks they are awesome

What are some of you other interests?
Most Geeky pursuits

Do you have any pets?
A loving cat called Ziggi

What is your favourite band?
Deity's Muse

Hi and welcome to ATT :D

I used to live in South Africa, place called Kloof outside of Durban.

Best moment - A fluffy moment of sending out a herald, asking my opponent to "Surrender bloodlessly" before the game starts. Always ends badly for the herald.

This is great, I used to do post game interview photos with my Por New Reporter model :D

See you about the forums!

- Tael.

Hey, a fellow South African!

Nice to see there are a few of us Tau out there. I mostly game with my brother and a friend from school, both of whom play marines, and even when I do visit the Battle Bunker (local hobby store) there doesn't seem to be much in the way of Tau presence, so nice to meet you (virtually anyway).

Tell me, does the ludicrous price of models get easier to bear once one has a steady job, or will that always be a lament for SA hobbyists?

Can be easier to bear, that and eBay is your friend. Also, even back in the 90's, SA was not cheap for the hobby - I used to game with the Westfield Wargamers club outside Durban - we tended to group buy and spread the shipping costs among ourselves. ;)
