Zadocfish's Conversions/Kitbashes/Gallery

Seriously, I ADORE this side of the hobby. WH40K allows you so much more creativity than other, similar games... the difference is huge.

The project I did today was a Firesight Marksman made from leftover scrap bits of the rest of my army. This is how it turned out, unpainted:

I'll update this when it's painted and primed. Still, C&C is always appreciated!

That's a really neat kitbash? Any idea on what parts you used?

Lots of stuff... Let's see, for the dude himself it was a Breacher, but with a Pathfinder's arm (the one holding the antenna) and epoxy for the torso. Also I shaved the T'au symbol off of a Breacher pauldron and put it onto his epoxy chest for authenticity.

The platform was more complicated. The core is an armor plate from a Commander, the Target-Lock-looking thing at the top was from... I THINK part of a Marker Drone, while the antenna is a normal Drone antenna. There are Breacher shoulder pads on the sides, to give it more width and volume, and a Markerlight from a Marker Drone to indicate the model's equipment loadout. On the reverse side of the Commander's chestpiece, I also glued a shaved-up Breacher backpack to make it look like the dude is interacting with a console, but you can't see that in the pictures. The platform is held up by the stock of an Etherial's Honor Blade, with a miscellaneous support system bit to connect it to the base, and covered up by a Stealth Suit pauldron.

Yeah, quite the amalgamation, but I think it turned out okay.

I might just have to try and build one myself, the torso plate is a great idea for the "body" of the console and the backpack inside is amazing.
I'll have to find something else for the stand since I don't have a spare ethereal but I think I got some old burst cannons laying around i can probably use.
I even have the body and arms from the ghostkeel pilot I can use to make him look like he is interacting with the device!

This will go great with my home-made sniper drones I made from the pathfinder rail rifles and old multi-tracker bits

Wow, very cool kitbash!
I like the commander torso plate and the aesthetics.
Do post a pic once it's painted up!

Here is my own take on the Firesight Marksman, which has a bit of Eldar flavour due to the bits I had around:
(In Spoiler form since this is Zadocfish's Gallery after all :) )

Let me try to remember what I used as it was a long time ago...
- From the Devilfish Sprue, arm and torso bits from the tank commander and the sensor spines bit.
- From the Fire Warrior Sprue, legs and helmet bits.
- Some bits from the Apocalypse Vehicle sprue, a couple of Eldar bits and part of a Tau bit.
- A piece of foam from a pen case.
- Pieces of cut sprues.

I'm oddly satisfied with how it all turned out. Honestly, turning scrap and DS8 turret bases into actual, useful models is pretty cool.

Pinched this idea off you! Really happy with how it turned out.

Used the pilot from a Devilfish for upper body and removed his back pack. I used extra FW legs and back pack. I think they are Coldstar fins on the side of a commander chest plate. Thats the barrell of a Rail Rifle for the stand.

First conversion.

The Ethereal on two hover drones is pretty rad! A kung fu fighting hover blading Aun!
