Because games workshop gave us piranhas. They figured we needed another devil fish, without the transport capacity and with the option of a fusion blaster. Personally I think tetras would have made more sence, but theres a good chance they would have been made too powerfull with the new markerlight rules. Emperor forbid we threaten the marines :P

We don't need Tetras to threaten Marines. Take 2 units of Sniper drones and you'll wipe most marines armies off the board. I personally am thinking about taking one Sniper unit, one Railhead and 2 Broadsides.
Mainly because 80% of my opponents are MEq players

I'm thinking on the same lines myself.... But 3 sniper units, not 2. I think this could be a viable alternative to the 3 HH Heavy Support we seem to be seeing lately...

Ah this is how it should be. None of this: "3 railheads, no fast attack/3 units of gun drones, few firewarriors, oh wow! A decision to make, do I want 2 units of stealth suits or three? Hmmm..." That we've always had before. Now fast attack and heavy support have become difficult choices. Horay.
I'm thinking two units of broadsides and then either Sniper Drones, Ion Head, or poss a Skyray, depends a lot on how my elite choice turns out - which depends on what I decide with my HQ and fast attack :
:D

Is the intent here 3 *units* or 3 *slots* of sniper drones? You can fit 3 units of 3 + spotter apiece in one slot...

9 stealth drones firing at BS3. Even with half the spotters hitting that is only 18 shots over 2 turns. 9 shots at BS4 (6 hit) and 9 at BS3 4.5 so in 2 turns you have from 9-10 shots so around 8-9 dead.

Not bad, but not exactly taking out entire armies...

I think that they look nice and will certainly buy some but they would seem to be of more value to a more Firebase approach.

You can only take ONE Heavy Support slot of sniper drones. So that leaves 2 other heavy support slots for railguns!

You can also have 3 units of sniper drones in one heavy support slot.

1 Unit is a Spotter and 3 sniper drones at the cost of a Shas'Vre broadside.
