Reefshield Mobile Artillery Firebase (Stormsurge conversion)

So here's that Stormsurge conversion I was talking about earlier, which actually turned out better than expected. I present the Reefshield Mobile Artillery Firebase, designed as a heavy weapons emplacement with antigrav manoeuvring capability. Apologies for the grainy pic, I'll probably upload better ones once I touch it up and commence painting.

I'll hopefully put some up in the near future, for now I'll be fine with some appraisal of the basic shape and concept. :)

So far, so Greater Good R.D. :P

I'm liking the concept and it puts me in mind of Ghost in the Shell and Dominion Tank Police to start. More images would be nice when you have the time. :)

More/better pics, as promised. Some things will be touched up with green stuff where necessary. I even added a little hatch for one of the pilots. :)

Looks interesting. Kinda reminds me of Face Huggers from Half Life.
I would however like to see a horizontal pic. from the side if possible as I am Intrigued how the legs are done.
"XV137 Experimental Artillery Battlesuit - The Thick - standing by" hehe :)

Heh--the legs are basically meant to be fused together as a forward part of the platform, sort of. I was going for a Siege Tank sort of look. :)

Any more thoughts from anyone?

I'd be interested on a side by side between this and a devilish - the shape isn't that far off - perhaps a second one could be built up from a devilish chassis for simplicity.

Eh...it's considerably bulkier than a Devilfish to say the least.

I dig it!
That's some crafty earth caste engineering right there!

I would like more pictures to get a better 360-degree idea on how you built it and what it looks like from more angles.

If I ever get one I will very likely build it like this since I don't really like the original design.
Better kill it fast before it lays eggs.

Thanks! Might do more angles when I spray-base it.

Did the model come with four destroyer missiles?
They are placed kind of low on the back, did you consider moving them to another location on the model?

The destroyer missiles are under the cluster missiles as normal; they are reasonably levelled, keeping in mind it's propped up on rocks.

In the meantime, I've base-sprayed and have begun painting. New pics hopefully soon to follow--I'm strongly considering putting the remaining 'toes' at the front adjacent to the big ones and inward, to make the front look more solid, and thus perhaps closer to the grav-platform look I want rather than a walker.

New pics, of the painting, which is still in progress. Got the new Tau Commander kit, made a Coldstar out of it, and put the standard backpack sides under the sides of the main body to bulk it out a bit more. Also put the remaining toes on the front.

Not the best lighting I know:

I think this was a good advice. We only have one blurry shot on how it is from side.
You've posted many pics from the top, but some other angles miss. So it's hard to give more inputs.

Okay, finally, more angles. Painting comes on slowly but surely.
