Difference between commander and coldstar

This is a model question over anything else, hence the Earth Caste post.

What is the visual difference between the Commander model and the Coldstar variant?

As I understand it, the standard commander is in XV8 and the Coldstar is VX85, is that right?

So this model is actually the XV85?!

Education below please :)

The Coldstar is built from the Commander box set. It's identified by the giant thruster-style engines, the longer and meaner-looking Burst Cannon, and the stabilizers/vanes stuck to various places on the armor.

The regular Commander is traditionally built using an XV8 plastic kit, however, with the advent of the new Commander boxed set the "Enforcer" variant can be used, which is physically larger, and uses the same chassis as the Coldstar minus the thrusters and stabilizers.

Ah hu! Thanks for the clarification.

I have the old school slope-style finecast commander, which from your description would be the Enforcer commander, and without the fins can't (WYSIWYG) be a coldstar.

Yup, that's a regular Commander! Remember that, in the actual rules, the Commander is just called a "Commander." So really, it's either a Coldstar because of the thrusters/wings, or it's in the catch-all category of "Commander."
