Puppetswar Weapon and Head size comparison

Hey all,

I am thinking of getting either of these for use as Cyclic Ion Blasters on my Crisis suits:
https://puppetswar.eu/product.php?id_product=734
https://puppetswar.eu/product.php?id_product=276

It says they are either 34 to 40mm long, which should be about the size (maybe slightly bigger) as regular crisis weapons.
Has anyone ever tried any of these out on Crisis suits? Bonus internet cookies for pictures.

I am also thinking of using these as alternate heads for my Firewarriors:
https://puppetswar.eu/product.php?id_product=679

Any experience with puppetswar heads on T'au models?

Disclaimer: I did a search for puppetswar but it was only people talking about the jetpacks for vespid conversions, and a thread with no longer functioning images.

Cheers,
Peter

I haven't used these bits in particular, but I've seen some Puppetswar conversions now and again. I'm pretty sure these bits are designed for Space Marine turret mountings, so they might be big on XV8s I think. Plus I just measured a some real XV8 guns and they're around 28-30mm in length. So again these could be a bit big.

I've used Puppetswar heads on Guardsmen, and they worked great, so I bet they'd be good for Tau too. They may look odd compared to actual Tau heads though (same is true with Guardsmen), so I would do all-or-nothing.

Puppets of War is pretty good. They do end up with miscasts some times where the mold shifted but their customer service is really good and will typically send replacements. The heads can be a little small comparatively to a normal FW Head... so keep that in mind.

I’m using the second one on a kitbash rightnow. They are bigger then standard Crisis weapons, but not by much. They would look more like a Heavy Weapon on a Crisis suit. Fusion Blaster for scale.

Had these laying on my desk so I snapped a picture. Here's the commander CIB, red dog single and double for comparison. They're all pretty close to 35mm counting the fuel cell, so I think those puppet war ones would look fine. That said I'm happy with the red dog ones because they look pretty close to the commander CIB model avoiding ambiguity. Those look nice (especially like the nuclear cannon), but I will say the 'nuclear heater' looks like maybe it was intended as a fusion blaster with the whole double barrel thing.
