Fishy Eldar at French Waaagh

I stumbled across some inspiring Eldar conversions at FWD18:
http://www.frenchwaaagh.org/fwd/fwd18-2 ... /index.htm

Some of my favourites from many.
Eldar straight from HP Lovecraft's Insmouth.
http://www.frenchwaaagh.org/fwd/fwd18-2 ... cn5703.jpg

Not exactly Eldar but they have a fantastic Chulthu-ness about them.
http://www.frenchwaaagh.org/fwd/fwd18-2 ... cn5700.jpg

This WraithLord is just plain scary
http://www.frenchwaaagh.org/fwd/fwd18-2 ... cn5701.jpg
Ditto this guy
http://www.frenchwaaagh.org/fwd/fwd18-2 ... cn5709.jpg

A bunch of primitive eldar
http://www.frenchwaaagh.org/fwd/fwd18-2 ... cn5689.jpg

These Eldar seem to have an oriental flavour
http://www.frenchwaaagh.org/fwd/fwd18-2 ... cn5693.jpg

Amazing buildings which could almost be Tau.

Thanks for the links, several of those photos are now tucked away inside my inspiration folder.

Does anyone have any idea what model the amphibian looking eldar are made from?

These dudes? - fixed my link :)

They look awesome and could find themselves the basis for a new auxiliary race for my cadre.

On a side note, those guys at French Waaagh are truly brilliant!

<Edits - fixed problems with my link, was going to the index on not the specific picture I wanted.>

<Edit - Thanks Wolf, I'm not sure how I didn't see it, particularly with several pictures of bloodthirsters throughout that gallery... :? >

The bodies are Bloodthirsters or whatever they're called. They are usually red, so it does look different. The heads might just be greenstuffed versions of the original head.

And yeah, the French Waagh is full of amazing armies. I would love to play a game on those tables!

If I recall a WiP I saw of these a while ago, he utilised the Dark Elf Corsair Octopus Banner emblem as a base for many of the conversions.

I should drop by French Waagh again, they *always* have some zany project going. Pressure cooker of peer driven creativity right there.

EDIT : No wait.. thinking of an entirely other project.. my bad.

Oooh, I have some of those too. I was too busy thinking of the capes and some of the weapons and hadn't stopped to consider the banner emblems.

Creative juices are flowing quite nicely now... and I am stuck at work with another few hours before I'll be anywhere near any minis *sigh*

I know! They don't give any info on how they made those, do they? These are the times when I wish I could read French!

No Fish-stix for you then Warhound. :P

Whilst these are rocking for Warhammer 40k, I've been on a Warhammer Quest binge of late (repainting old models) and I can't help but think the bloodletter conversions are great for creating some Fish-folk to battle.

Doesn't hurt the guy is a professional sculptor though, haha.. :D

Either way, this has been a great find. Thanks again.

Great link, Warhound.
In these pictures you can see the amzing extra conversion work he did on the bloodthirster swords.
It looks like he has put something highly corrosive to the plastic on small section fo his figures ! (as seen in the helmet & leg of his exarch ?)
http://www.allancarrasco.net/uploads/pi ... ignee2.jpg

Ever since I saw the Dark Elf Hero Lokhir Fellheart with his "kraken-shaped helm" (I prefer Cthulhu mask) I've been wanting to do a bunch of dark elves/eldar with that type of helmet.

I even looked at my almost finished standard red unit of bloodthirsters with the idea of doing a test paint in Allan Carrasco's gorgeous colour scheme but the urge to convert a new box of them fishheads is overwhelming & a great excuse to avoid finishing heaps of other stuff.

This stuff is absolutely incredible. I'm not sure what else to say about it, except, "Thank you for sharing this link!"

The Cthulhu Eldar are an inspiration. The Knights are incredible. Hell, even the Orks are extremely well done, and did you chance a gander at those Dark Angels? So simple, but so well executed.

Damn my fat American fingers! BAH! DeToqueville was right >< *sobs*

Hey sweet paint jobs, I liked the Eldar Wraithhorse conversion from that Saim-Hann army.

.... Say, did anyone notice that the counts-as banshees from the fishy eldar have [expletive]s? Or tentacles in that place? Sorry to degrade the thread :P but trust the French to model tiny genitals onto their one-inch fish-demons (hey, there's a new nickname). Haha, nah just kidding. As an aussie I can't hold the moral high ground :P

My wife thinks he may have used a hot needle to achieve this effect.
