Not got as far as I hoped with the 2 Landspeeders that are WIP this week - due to the hull gap problems which I am trying to fill but such is life.

I did manage to complete the magnetisation so here are a couple of photos to show where I fitted the magnets (marked with the green/blue circles).

The Typhoon missile boxes get 1 magnet each
the doors 1 each side for the Typhoon (in the small square recess on the door)
1 magnet under the chin and 1 on the chin weapon holder
1 magnet on the weapons triggers in the gunners hands
and finally 1 in the slot for the trigger on the multi melta and heavy bolter

9 magnets in total per speeder

I use 2mm x 1.5mm magnets which seem strong enough.

This week I managed to complete the 6th Tactical Squad and get another Ravenwing squad ready for undercoating...

For those of you who are following this creation of the 4th Company - you may have noticed I tend to jump from squad to squad with out any thought of order - this is mainly to keep my interest going as painting 60 tactical marines in one go would bore me to tears.

Anyway here are the 6th....

Comments always welcome :P

I just need to short out the photo quality now

Oh I feel your pain, I remember how boring it was to paint 6x12 Firewarriors.

Your work is really good, this is a massive project.

It seems to be never ending - I have all the models in boxes in a cupboard but the pile never gets any smaller. :::(

This is also slowing down the Tau I have in the painting queue.

Maybe you can see them "in the flesh" next time our paths cross :P

Funny that I should be thinking last night about getting started (again) into painting up my Ravenwing army and what is the subject of the first thread I have a look at today on ATT? Must be giving me a hint to stop procrastinating and just get on with it!

I like the 'Speeders in particular, as I have 10 of them to do as yet for my RW list. The black is done but I'm not looking forward to doing all that edge highlighting. :-(

Che: I would love to see the Barracuda - it may make me buy one depending on my bonus this year ;)

Eiglepulper: I cheated on the speeder highlighting was done using drybrushing - lots quicker :P

6 Bikes and an Attack bike next week. Will this never end?

Of course not as I have still got Landraiders on the shopping list (can't have terminators walking to the party  ).

HAH, forget the riders, build a Pub and park them in front of it, THAT will look awesome.

Anyway, nice work on those bikes, I am looking forward to see them completed.

I have had a little (loads) of advice from a member of another site on how to improve my photography...

Meanwhile I have spent the last 3 weeks painting the Ravenwing, 1st Squad (Veteran) for my DA's.

I got a little more carried away with the details than usual on these and not only drilled out the rifle barrels but the exhausts too! Far too much time on my hands :P

First off the Squads Veteran Sgt Zaul

Brother Forcas

Brother Rochel

Brother Kfial

Finally the Attack Bike with the inseparable Brothers Auriel (gunner) and Galmon

The problem with good quality photos is that you can see all the mistakes a lot easier than on the actual model

I am now in the middle of repainting my original Ravenwing as Squad 2 and I will upload these once complete.

I have now had a chance to rework the 2nd Squad to try to bring them up to the same scheme/level as the 1st Squad and here they are:

I have been roped into the B&C 2012 LPC and have made a vow to paint 5 scouts, 10 Assault and maybe as a bonus a Tactical squad. It has to be completed by the end of March.

Progress so far is 5 Battle Brothers from 10th Company, 7th Squad.

Mental note MUST get back to Tau this year :P

Although all I seem to be updating at the moment is my DAs I have not forgotten my Tau waiting in the painting queue but first this:

Getting close to having a full Company now - only about 10 Marines to do
