I regret buying an XV107 from Forgeworld.
These bits would have been so much better.

They look awesome!

Part of me wants to shave out the middle and use it as a Railgun. It looks sweet compared to the standard one, is the size comparable?

Hiya

while I love these... there is somthing not quite in-keeping... I think that the 'knocked over trapezium shapes' (with the 3 spot depressions) in the middle just look 'tacked on'... not functional, or as detailed as the rest of the piece....

Possibly change that element to be a more intergrated 'collar' to mesh the barrel to the main body of the gun?

I love the canisters and 'elbows'... perhaps the sleeves on the barrell could be joined from top to bottom, so allowing the central chamber to be hollowed out by the user- if they choose- but keeping the strenght of the unit?

if that makes sense?

otherwise, these will be on my next purchase!

cheers

Here's a concept I was toying around with. Has inspiration elements from Shoji Kawamori's art (macross/gundam) and XCom's Mectoid. If I make a model for it'd be sized around 55-60mm so it'd be roughly on par with Infinity TAG suits. Working name for these would be R.O.I. Remote Operated Infantry "Roys" for slang.

Still on the fence with the design so I thought I'd toss it out there and see what you guys think.

Didn't happen to draw any inspiration from Shas'O Kais' design, did you? ;)

The concept reminds me of Lord Dirks drawings. How many fingers would it have? Four per coincidence? Would there be different ways to assemble the joints? If yes, I would buy a pack if three ASAP. I have some more questions though, does the weapon replace part of an arm? Could you maybe make an optional jetpack?
If it was some milimeters bigger they would be even more fitting to replace a certain dated model in a popular tabletop game... As it is it might not have the right mass, because it is a delicate designt in comparison.

I like the design. Looks just Tau-y to be useful as a crisis type stand-in (and it seems to make sense that the Tau would use remote operated suit). Plus, your stuff has been pretty high quality, so I would love to see you produce a suit.

That said... go back to your room and don't you dare leave until the Lynx is ready for sale! ;)

Current thought on weapons is that they'd be handheld, or mounted over the shoulders similar to the Gundam GM series. It has a 3 fingered hand, two fingers and a thumb. (xcom mec trooper style)

Hadn't planned on a rear mounted thruster unit, although it might be possible to add one as an extra part. At 60mm in height it'd be about a head taller than a common popular mech. Parts would be on ball joints to allow for a good amount of poseability.

Also the Mecha Front lynx should be headed out for printing late this week.

I like it. An option for a flight pack for use as a air-mobile mecha would be good. Perhaps an upgraded armour package option for a heavy infantry variant as well . . . at least in the long term plan ahead form.

I am in favour of hand held weapons, though keeping a shoulder mount for missile systems or supplementary equipment would be a good idea. Perhaps a modular shoulder system so you could have a clean shoulder, or replace the shoulder armour with a weapon system.

It looks good, and its somewhere in between a XV22 and a XV9.

I might get some of it if I have the budget to do so! And I'm agreeing with Jefffar here. Hand held weapon is always a cool factor even though it might not make as much sense, and with the shoulder mounted weapons, it would be pretty neat. Still, I love where you are taking this and I can't wait to see it!

If I go with a heavier version it'll likely end up with elements along the lines of Appleseed's Landmates

Which is totally okay because Landmates rock all the socks. All of them.

Truth be told I'd love to find some Landmate models to use for XV25s/8s, but they don't really make any of an appropriate scale.

I think your concept looks awesome. I'd love to see it realized.

Did you make any progress on the R.O.I?
I know it must take quite some time to realise such a project. I am just really excited at the thought of acquiring some of these...
I thought showing that there is some real interest in this project might help to quicken the realisation. Come on people, please do it likewise, for the benefit of us all, ehrm... the greater good. :)

The Paulson Games website will be closing on Jan 25th. This will be permanent.

If you have any purchases you want to make be sure to get them in before the 25th. Mecha Front items will remain available on www.MechaFront.com which should be online sometime later today.

I'm closing the Paulson Games website as I wish to focus my business solely on the production of Mecha Front items. I appreciate all the support you guys have shown for my past products and I look forward to supplying you guys with some outstanding Mecha Front items in the coming year.

The main factor in this decision is that I re-enrolled in college and I won't have the time and resources to keep up with the production work for my bits line. What modelling work I do plan on doing will be focused on the Mecha Front models and their rules.

Order placed, items were vanishing as I was clicking. Sad to see your supply of amazing parts going into legend. Thanks for your creations :)

Does that mean the R.O.I will never be produced?
Or could it maybe become part of the mechafront line?
I will place an order too, before it gets too late. :)

Not sure what I'll do with the ROI concept just yet, I'm not opposed to doing a few stand alone models which might end up as a limited run item, but due to my class schedule I won't have the time for casting on a regular basis.

It will be something on the backburner but no idea when I might be able to address it. I'll let you guys know if something comes from it though.

As a big fan of your work, I have made sure that I have a nice big stockpile for conversions to come. :D

Thank you for supplying us with awesome bits and I hope that college will work out great.
Best of luck!
