El'mo's Chocochip Astra Milliwhatnow

These started off life as a planned "Gue-vesa" force for my Tau Cadre but as they seem to be evolving into a Guard ally I think it is only fair to now put them into the Enemies & Alternate Systems section.

They where originally in this thread and have now been moved here.

Might be a daft question but which ones can't you see?

I was having link problems last week on a well known PA site but I can see all of these on my screen.

Bah, n/m
It's my machine. Some of the links are blocked on the firewall. When looking at them on my phone they all show fine.

But to answer your question, the first few and the second post.

dang thats some amazing painting there. If you are planning on running em as gue'vesa tough, id remove the aquila, and also, it looks kinda wierd having only half a drum-mag to the heavy weapons, but looks really good having an extra mag laying around.

hope to see more :D

Thanks guys ;)

"Do you want to see more?"

I have been tiding up my painting corner and finishing off projects. These 2 are the last ones so I can now get on with my Tau.

This Commissar is in my favourite pose - doing the Emperors work and enjoying it!

I thought I had got rid of the mold line in the bottom right photo but it seems to have sneaked back on this sniper.

The first of many Leman Russes is complete ;)

The weapons are fully interchangeable and it has magnetised sponsons. You can see how the work progressed from here

I mainly used a sponge technique which greatly sped up the painting process and also has the look I was trying to achieve. This took a week from undercoat to complete.

My latest addition is this Valkyrie and it has been painted using similar techniques to the Russ and the under belly the same as my Barracuda.

#812 "Aces High"
Tail number 812 is officially known by the name "Justus Extremis" but has been given the unofficial nick-name of "Aces High" by Crew Chief Donald.

Donald has always considered himself a good gambler, he would say that he gambles every time he takes to the skies of Eridanus Tertiary. What with the blowing dust clogging the turbines and the suicidal ork planes which are just as likely to ram you as to shoot at you you have to be lucky to stay alive.

'812 has never, in her long history, let her crew down. Even in the worst days of the battle of Cepheus Harbour where she had limped back to base with gaping holes in the wings but had refused to fail, safely bringing her crew home. This has earned her the affection of all, not just her crew but other members of the squadron too. The Squadron Commander turned a blind eye to Donalds nose art and even Commissar Blenheim has said nothing knowing that morale is worth more than a small amount of unofficial graffiti.

Looks awesome. This has inspired me to use the sponge method on my own guard models, provided I get around to doing it.

Thanks timb6ea :)

Work has been progressing on the next addition to my IG - a magnetised Chimera. About another 2 evenings to weather it then I have a half finished Leman Russ to complete then either a Hellhound or a Hydra/Wyvern, not sure which yet.

Very nice work; simple, but clean and well-executed! I can't help but wonder what the Tempestus models would look like in your style... :crafty:

Also I just received 2 parcels with a total of 2 LR Demolishers, 2 Chimeras, a LRBT and a Wyvern/Hydra. Add this to the Hammer of Cadia I treated myself to last month, I may be painting AM till the middle of next year :)

A glorious collection of the God Emperor's armour, El'mo! Nice work on the Chimera, for the T&T challenge I imagine?

Man, it's cool to look at your threads here (and elsewhere) and see how much you've improved over the years. This stuff looks really great! A good motivator/inspiration to keep plugging away and improving with every model.
