tried to watch this, but at about 3 minutes in I had to close it, don't expect a battle report from a guy that puts 3FB MT and SG on commander to have any value to me at all

this is an issue I see in every Tau battle report I watched recently, either they use units and loadouts that are straight up bad, or (and) they completely butcher rules (consistently firing drone ML on 6+ without moving, putting 5 things on commander etc.)

a lot of guys watch this to learn the ropes so this is not just about terrible quality, but actually damaging the gameplay of others who see it in "proffesional" battle report so they think its optimal or correct

Yeah, this is one of the big problems with Tau battle reports- there aren't many (if any, really) good Tau players who make battle reports. StrikingScorpion is one of the good channels out there- professional, tactical, and fun to watch. However the Tau battle reports leave a little to be desired.

It's weird though, I could understand using subpar units, but if I'm going to upload the batrep to youtube especially with a big viewer base, I would make sure to at least get the rules right, and while forgetting something can be excused, taking options that cannot be taken in the age of battlescribe can not.

when playing the game, I make sure that I use rules correctly and am not "cheating by mistake" in order to have a good game without feeling bad when I would learn that I put myself in advantage by wrong usage or rules or something and I am not doing batreps, I'm just playing for fun

Yeah it was something that really got me as well, but even with those mistakes the battle's are fun to watch. And seeing some of the comments on the later T'au battle reports he has said he will fix the load out problems and rule mistakes (like firing overwatch with the Stormsurge..
So hopefull for new reports

This is a funny battle report. The Tau employ some dubious strategies (MSU Breachers with Support Turrets?) but do surprisingly well. I won't spoil the ending but it's worth the watch I think.

Still a few little misses in the rules for T'au like forgetting the FnP of the Shield Drones and the double roll take highest dice for damage for the fusions (though that didn't matter as the target got killed anyway) and playing with pre-CA rules

Yeah, at this point I've pretty much given up looking for rules errors in Tau battle reports, as they're so common. It's good that you're keeping an eye out though.

Well I find it my personal duty to try and educate people by pointing this stuff out, even if I'm wrong sometimes or don't have the full context.. it atleast opens up a dialog and when people talk about subjects it tends to stick and people remember stuff that way :)

Definitely. I wish the people in the videos would listen to the feedback though. There have been so many comments about the illegal "Commander Pinpoint" on the Striking Scorpion channel, and yet he fielded it again in the recent one.

Could you tell me what is illegal on the Striking Scorpion commander ? (I didn't spot it...)

On another note there is a video of Winters SEO his Space marines against Tau.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uU6ccPIpNkU

The Tau player didn't use the new stratagem but the new relic.
The list is far from optimised, there is few mistake, I think.
But the game was very interesting.

In many games, the Tau "Commander Pinpoint" on the Striking Scorpion 83 channel has 3 Fusion Blasters, 1 Shield Generator, and 1 Multi-Tracker. This is 5 hardpoints worth of upgrades, while the Commander can only take 4.

Unfortunately I've seen someone pointing it out and scorpion responding to it that he will make sure I'd doesn't happen again.

Technically he can do something similar now with the relic, but just like the previous build, WHY? :P

Awful report.
Full of mistakes.
I really don't know how someone clan upload a batrep so chunky. I thought that they must know the rules at least.
