Multiple targeting and overcharge

So in a scenario where I have a Commander with 4 CIB and available for shooting is an infantry squad and a Walker/ MC with 3 wounds left my natural thought is overcharge shoot at the big guy and fire 3 normal vs the infantry.

Cam I do this? Also with weapon by weapon shooting could I fire at big guy first, if it fails to kill him then shoot the second CIB at him on overcharge until he goes down then whatever is left at the infantry.

Or do I need to declare what I'm shooting at whom before rolling?

I believe you have to declare the shooting of the entire unit, so by extension, what each weapon is firing at, before you actually roll anything. You can do this one unit at a time, so if the Commander fails to kill the Walker, you can then choose another unit to shoot at it and potentially finish it off.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I thought that targets had to be declared all at once, but not which weapon is shooting at each target.

Yeah you have to declare all your shooting targets for a unit at once before you roll anything.

I know a unit can split its shooting however I'm not completely sure if a single model can split its shooting though, would have to check on that when I'm back home.

From Core rules 3.3:

Similarly, if a unit
contains more than one model, they can
shoot at the same, or different targets as
you choose. In either case, declare how
you will split the shooting unit’s shots
before any dice are rolled, and resolve
all the shots against one target before
moving on to the next.

That isn't exactly answering the question though. It talks about different models in a unit, not about different weapons on the same model.

If a model has several
weapons, it can shoot all of them at the
same target, or it can shoot each at a
different enemy uni

Sorry Panzer, here is the first part of that which to indulge you...

Choose Ranged Weapon
The weapons a model has are listed
on its datasheet. If a model has several
weapons, it can shoot all of them at the
same target, or it can shoot each at a
different enemy unit.
Similarly, if a unit
contains more than one model, they can
shoot at the same, or different targets as
you choose. In either case, declare how
you will split the shooting unit’s shots
before any dice are rolled
, and resolve
all the shots against one target before
moving on to the next.

Cool thanks for that but to the second part of my question can I split the overcharged shooting with standard or do all weapons have to be fired on the same profile?

It goes like this: my commander is going to be firing two overcharged CIBs at unit A and two normal CIBs at unit B, then roll the overcharged D3 and resolve hits then wounds and roll for the hits and wounds for the normal CIBs separately. You just have to declare it before shooting.
