Tau options now included. For fun, I just concocted the Maco: a Tau Light Skimmer with 2x TLMP, Landing Gear, AV11 on front and side armour, 10 on rear, fully armoured. Cost worked out automatically at 205pts.

Heya, this is a cool thing. Fun stuff calculating though I'd never use a VDR thing, it's fun to create stuff and see what it costs and just have a laugh. :)

It's fun just to mess with the designs (Tau Dreadnoughts with Smart missiles, Ion cannon and it skims :evil: )

185 pts for a tau dreadnough with ion cannon on 1 arm with ion cannon, burst cannon under it, 1 twin linked pasma rifle and a shoulder mounted missile pod... 12 front, 11 side and 10 rear.

Now i can try and see what happens when you try to get a BFG escort into 40k... just for point cost curiousity of course

My interpretation of the KASS'l (orca) gunship just came in at 4890 points :D

Armed with TL Gatling Railguns (w/ submunitions) + burst cannon and TL smart missiles.

I'd pay the points :P

The point cost seems too low...

Just for railguns...at BS 4 with subm. meaning they are 55 a piece.

TL (+50%) + gatling (150%) = 200%...and you need to add in a 100% for base...meaning each 'weapon' is 300% of cost. Each 'weapon' is a pair of RGs (TL'd).

So each TL-RG is now 55 * 300% = 165. AND you need at least four of pairs to be gatling (*).

Thus 165 * 4 = 660 just for the RGs. Then add in a ll the other costs...

(*) A gatling weapon is an upgrade to a twin-link. And VDR is supposed to be WYSIWYG - so the model should look like this. A gatling weapon requires a minimum of '4' gun barrels. In your build, since you are twn-linking to get a better accuracy, each 'barrel' is actually two gun barrels. Thus the model needs to have 4 barrels * two barrels (TLing) = 8 barrels!
