Ahhh, so the third one's supposed to be dodging; I think I see now. Personally, I would've gone with a less "straight" appearance. Just for future work, here's what I thought of:

Image
-Find a new place to put the Targeting Array, or-better yet-give it to the third suit, and maybe put the one sans the antenna onto the 'vre; the antenna on this one just looks out of place.
-Perhaps not include a targeting array at all, seeing as there's already one built into the head! :P

Image
-Bending the left (It's right) knee
-Lowering the left (it's right) arm some, and angling it in or out some more
-Bending the right (it's left) elbow juuuust a bit, maybe "twist" the forearm inwards a bit more, just to make it that more dynamic ;)

Hi folks,

not much happened since the "when we were Shas'La" challenge - doh! And I promised pics I totally forgot to put up - crap! I apologize *bows deep*

Well the next big project is my SpaceHulk like 25% of the community will do aswell, I assume?! ;)
Further there is more stuff going on in the next weeks and months. Some may have allready been told. I will start studying in October, for this I have to move about 100km from Stuttgart area to Offenburg in the Blackforest. This will happen in two weeks. So I don't know how fast I get all my stuff there and how fast I get acces to the net again. So I might be off the civilizised world for some weeks.
And of course I can not tell how this all will affect the hobby, I hope to get my daily two hours when I can work for the hobby. We will see.

The only two really sad things are that I have to leave all my friends behind, but I definitely will find new ones, and that there is no FLGS in Offenburg. The nearest one is in Strasbourg over the French border

So If somebody is from that area, I am open for meetings if schedules allow me to do :D

So I primed the Space Hulk Termies this morning, painting hasn't started yet, but I will just after you read this reply ;)

I also slapped some bases together for my DW-Termies. 5 of them are ready to go another 5 needs to get cleaned up... so if the weather is on my side I can prime the rest of the minis tomorrow or at least on sunday :)
Image

Here a pic of my alternative entry for the When we were Shas'La challenge
Image
Image
It was mainly a Helmet conversion. Inspired by Metal Gear Solid (again :P ) The model should represent a PF with a night-Infra-red-vision-google for my desert-cadre. Preparing missile strikes during nights. He also wears a modified markerlight. The picture is not too good it should come out better when painted up.

And WWII got back to Kirchheim - lol - not really. This weekend is a oldtimer-aircraft-"festival" on our local airfield "Hahnweide". Actually it's know through out the whole globe.
I was then a bit suprised to see six, yes six!, Ju 52 "Tante Ju" flying 50 meters over the roofs. I didn't even know that there are 6 operational Ju 52's at present time, the last years the maximum of these beauties were 3.
I hope the weather get's better, then I could see all the other nice stuff in the air. It rained heavily today. There are warbirds from both worldwars and and some stuff from VietnamWar-era.

Excellent! That is a beautiful plane. I have a friend that I haven't spoken to in years that lives near the Black Forest. He and his father would restore BF-109's and sell them. Thank you for the pictures, rainy though they may be.

Bah painting Blood Red is such a pain. But I give my best.

*cough* I also felt and heard the Ju's. Today a B-17 flew right over our house... that's an impressive sight and an awesome sound. 30min ago a Focke-Wulf FW-190 and a Spitfire gave everything - Enginges howling. I need one of those Flak 18 in the Garden :P

Maybe an 88 would have been in order, just in case some Sherman's start driving through your garden! :P

I see the Lancaster on a fairly regular basis, with it's Spitfire and Hurricane escorts. My most impressive experiance of a low level fly over , was at the U.S. Airbase at Mildenhall, when a british Vulcan Bomber flew over the base during an airshow at about 400feet! I was being shouted at by a Royal Marine Commando, whilst attempting a Assault course. He was right in my face and screaming blue murder, but I couldn't here a thing! Sounded like thunder at very close range! Awesomeness indeed, actually I live neer to a Airport that has a resident Vulcan Bomber there under private ownership!

Google Earth/Maps for Southend airport and you'll see it, Right hand side by the railway lines :D http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/phot ... 934223.jpg

The bases look very nice minamoto!
The one with the little wall needs something … maybe a little grid or some rivets, too. Do not get me wrong! The wall looks great, but the rest looks too flat in my opinion.
I am curious of your Deathwing. Maybe you can use your Chaplain, too. It could even be your sergeant. At least, the equipment fits :)

I did not know that your aunt is visiting you :P Nice pictures … it is a pity that the weather was so bad.

:-?
Well if I work on a project that's not finished yet any suggestion my be considered valuable, after I finished something I am to lazy to put any effort in a project again ... :P :D
So if you have any Idea shot it.

My aunt? you want to meet my aunt :P
Yes I know the wall section is a bit odd. It's the weakest of the five bases. But I gotta do another five so I may rework that one aswell.

Brokensword wrote:Maybe an 88 would have been in order, just in case some Sherman's start driving through your garden! :P

*cough* The Flak 18 is the famous 88mm caliber gun ;) But if some shermans intend to ruin my english roses I have a tiger in the garage... sadly it's 1/72 :::(

Ahh Lancaster are beauties too. The Spitfire has a lovely sound, but it's one of the after-war models with the 5wing-propeller and the shortened wings unlike the war-model with the 4wing-propeller.
Vulcan Bomber... never heard of that one sounds like C&C :P - I'll check google for it. ohhh wow that one is looking great.

Did not much on painting or modeling, I was visiting my room and buying furnitures and stuff in the world famous... well I guess you know IKEA :D

Hi folks,
I have crashed with my Piranha in Offenburg now, as some of you allready know. New city, new people...

Although I have some hobby news for you...

Pics of my Deathwing Terminators due to the new Edition of Space Hulk.
Image
Image
Although I had to leave my nurgle Raptors at home due to crappy packing I have something to paint in the dirty-look ;)
The only sad thing about it is, that it goes easier off hand then the red scheme for the Blood Angels Termies that I have with me.

More to follow soon

I let the pictures tell the story, I will take better pics tomorrow - when the batteries have charged up :D
For my excuse: the skin looks fleshier in RL

Hmmm, whilst well done, the lower eye area on the first head seems a bit stark and grey? Maybe try keeping it the same skin tones, but wash under the eye area very lightly with some purple and then slightly highlight to create that 'up late' shadow?

To be truthful, I just started doing this after all my human painting with the Warhammer Quest blog. It works a treat. Main thing is water down that purple a lot.

Ahhhh! The Deathwing finally arrived. I almost can see the glitter in your eyes that you have an excuse to buy, paint and use them :P or is it just the first step for your new Deathwing army? ;) :D
The Sergeant looks very yellowish, but I assume that this is just for the dirty look, which looks fantastic. Nurgle has a strong grip on you :P If I see any tentacle on this Termis I will call the Inquisition :D

minamoto wrote:Yes I know the wall section is a bit odd. It's the weakest of the five bases. But I gotta do another five so I may rework that one aswell.

That was not what I wanted to say. I like the wall, but the bottom of the base looks too flat. Some rivets or a grid would help to brake the flatness up :) Or you add some Tyranid parts (if you have some), Brother Goriel leads the way ;)

Are you planing to copy all the weapons of the SpaceHulk box or do you plan to make your own story/background/equipment?

Thanks for that advice but I did the other way round :D I overpainted it carefully with the skin tone. I hope it blends now better in. It's quite difficult to judge the heads by their true size, since they look completely different on the pics. It's like seeing any fold and mistake  but while you holding them in your hand you hardly can see that he got blue eyes ;)

Shas'vre Shavaun wrote:Ahhhh! The Deathwing finally arrived. I almost can see the glitter in your eyes that you have an excuse to buy, paint and use them :P or is it just the first step for your new Deathwing army? ;) :D

I will blame you, when I starting a Deathwing army. You always poke me with that - truley I only want to have 5 or 10 DW Termies for Space Hulk ;)

Jup, that's the Bubobnic Brown it's like layer No. 4 or 5, I guess two more to go without Highlights.
Inquisition? They wont dare!

My plan actually was to paint some numbers or warning sings on the floor. So I wanted it plain to not overload it.
Yes, the 1st Termie squad will be a exact copy of the SpaceHulk Termies first squad layout. The second Squad will maybe the same like the second Blood Angels but I am not certain, yet.

Puuhhh that where a lot questions... nosey Shavaun :P

Sorry, for not updating the pictures earlier but my fellow students kept me busy with important students-affairs. Like watching Soccer (Champions League is totally boring I know why I don't like Soccer), drinking beer or hanging out all night :P

As mentioned above I reworked the Sergeant's Head and I hope it will come out better on the picture this time. Also finished the highlights on his Headgear. Also I present you a head for one of the standard Stormbolter guys. I decided for green hoods since I think white or ocre would look out of place with bone-coloured armour. Aswell I want the Aquila golden unlike GW's green, that I think looks silly aswell. The Assault-Gunner didn't have that much work, just did the hood.
Image

The armshields have been finished, too. The middle one is for the sergeant but I have to think of some heraldry or iconography that I can paint on. Something like the heraldry used on the "HH Fallen Angels" cover - suggestions?
Image
Please excuse the poor pics but the good camera is left at home

C&C as always highly appreciated

Hehe, your not too bad at this painting lark are you ;) . Your work on the heads is awesome, I could never do that kind of quality with face's , thats why i shy away from them as much as possible. Your colouration on the armour seems to my eye , just about right for that "Bone" colour look.

I'm looking forward to seeing the whole set done, also when are you getting back onto the Xbox? Do you fancy running through Gears , or maybe some Horde action ?

Thanks for the compliments both of you :D

Well I would show up on X-Box live, but I can't get a connection with the Box from here... I have to clear that with my provider. When I am back we can hack 'n' slay through the horde :)
