Nihilakh Oxide? The whole new range often throws me, thanks for the pointer :)

As for distraction, can completely understand that haha.

Team looks great, giving me ideas about converting more active Empire greatswords.

Ok managed to not get distracted and get the Ork team done... Lots of new things tried out here I used the FW weathering powders (the two rust ones) as a paint by mixing in acrylic thinners and matt varnish then smattering on dry pigments over the wet paint to ad texture. I'm not sure the final result look like a realistic rust but it sure is visually interesting.

I've still got all the tokens and markers to get painted up but I've done the teams. Then I think I'm on with Bjorn and two character models for my Tau army.... I've still not worked out the colour scheme for my tide wall yet I'm toying with either brown or grey to distinguish it from the rest of my army but still fit in.... I open to ideas as it's breaking my brain trying to settle on an idea!

Next edition to the Wolf army is Bjorn.

I'm not sure when I'll be asked to add more to this army but I've been told there are plans for another 2k points including some Grey Knights... Could get interesting!

I've already started work on some Tau characters I should have them to post tomorrow if I get the time... I'm still undecided on what colour to use on my Tide wall so it's taking a back seat for now.

I finally got around to painting a few editions I got for Christmas. I may go back in and work on the flesh tones a bit more They don't show up well on camera and are a bit darker than my usual.... I'm not sure that matters but the fact they look so bad on camera is upsetting me!

I've been busy building Blood Angel terminators this afternoon. I have 10 with lightening claws, 6 with thunder hammers, and 10 with guns... Two with assault cannons.... I also have a spare Sargent, a cyclone missile launcher guy, and two heavy flamer dudes.. So I have some options. I also have also built Karlaen and two Librarians in terminator armour. I have my work cut out for me!

Man, busy guy indeed. I have the same issue with subtle skin tones - appears bland in digital photos.

The Dread' is exceptional work, very rustic stylings.

Cheers man. I keep meaning to go back and touch up the skin, but as I have signed off in my head I keep avoiding it... I'm almost done a with a few tanks for my BA's... Then I'll have about 30 Terminators to work my way through after that.

Once I have finished these models I have some vanguard and sternguard to make then all of my armies are 100% painted!

Image

I've been working quite quickly in the small amount of time I'm finding to paint and progress has been swift.

Image

I've not got names for my rhino's but I do have names for the Baal Preds, Salvation and Sacrifice.

Image

This old school rhino was gifted to me by my now wife when we first started dating.

Next I'm going to work on the death company dreadnoughts then I'll need to buy some supplies before I can start working on my 25+ Terminators

I get around a bit, lol. To get feed back these days you have to hit up as many forums as possible I find. FB is getting better, but it's just to much unfiltered opinion to be helpful I find. I just stay out of it... for now. :fear:

These where going to be Cassor and Moriar... But I didn't really pay enough attention to their war gear. Cassor has upgraded to twin flamers rather then the base options he should have and I feel Moriar needs to be more ornate.... So I guess I'll just have to get another two at some point!

Image

I have 12 dreadnoughts painted now.. I'd like two more either normal or Furioso Dreads so I have a full 10 Dread squad all in red. I have two Libby Dreads to lead the squad and now two Death company ones because I could resist painting them black.. I might have a problem!

One squad down, second is well on it's way. Then I need to prime my last one before I then work on my character models.... I just need to get hold of a 50mm base.

Nice deep red lustre to the finish, I tend to shy away from red because highlight can end up a little dried out.

Thank you. I try to go subtler with highlights on red to stop that but I often worry about going to minimal with it. I think the way forward is to get a strong lowlight/shade/shadow to add the contrast instead. Still easy said, lol.

I'll keep an eye out for it.

I've got yet another Squad done Karlaen and his shield brothers. I'm also getting used to photographing Red again... It seem silly saying that but it really does throw me for a loop going from my Tau to the Blood Angels.

Image

I think I might have a break from more Angels just now and hit that tide wall next... Maybe I'll touch up the flesh on my last two "specialists" as well.

Really liking the banner work, moody and aged :)

Painting wise, variety is good - I have enjoyed switching from Fantasy to 40k and back.

Cheers dude. I didn't think a chapter relic like the first company's banner would look all new and clean even if it'd been well maintained. It dose add a lot of extra interest to the squad... Not sure if it's worth the points on table mind.

If I get really stuck with nothing to paint I've still got the Stormcast eternals to paint from the box set. When I first picked them up I loved them, but now I've spent so long looking at them I'm kind of board of them! Especially when I look at the newer faction releases they seem to be not quite as exciting.

This is the one reason I still Love ATT so much. As much as we are a home for all thing Tau the ability to share all my work in one place is so liberating. Also for people to find use in other factions painting shows a level and understanding and tolerance not found in many other places on the internet these days. Tau'Va.

There is some much awesome within this thread that it's going to take me a month of Sunday's to fully digest all that I have missed. In particular these Space marine looking Tau are mightily impressive. ;)

Keep up the great work my friend. :)
