I hope, I will not disappoint you El'mo :)

But one disappointing for me from the Ghoskeel kit. If you change position of the legs in the knees, big gaps on knees opens. Fail.

Parsifal,
Your army is a true inspiration.
Can't wait to see what you do with the Ghostkeel.
I'm going for green Tau too, any advice?

Something about green :)
Do not use some bright green. Try to find a military green.
Carefully choose secondary color. I have dark grey, I saw some blue/green or dark blue, but not too vibrant, again dark or muted tone.
Sept color not matter. All colors are good with dark green.
As a base color choose one which have normal and airbrush version to avoid unnecessary mixing of colors and easy using of airbrush.

I hope it helps.

Why do you recommend against using a bright green Persifal? Personal preference or is there something that makes it hard to airbrush/paint that color by nature?

Maybe it is my personal preference, because suits in bright green will be looks like cheap toys for me. It possible paint tau in bright green and it should be good, but with more effort in shading and overall color balance.

Haha. See, I kinda like that.

Not to denigrate your choice of green by the way. Your Tau are quite the inspiration for me. Everything is so crisp and professional. Plus the way you combine the drab military colors with the blue glow from the suits' engines and anti-grav... doodles... is really stunning. I tried to replicate the glow but I just couldn't get it to look right.

I return after years of lurking just to say your models are phenomenal.
I knew from the moment I saw your Fireblade (at 5am last night) that there was a Golden Demon standard painter approaching...
Can I beg you for advice? On those beautiful gradients all the armour plates on your tau have, for instance?

Perisfal, your color scheme is very, very similar to one of the ones I'd love to do. However, I just can't quite figure out how to pull it off so nicely. Would you be so kind as to list what colors your use - and perhaps even do a tutorial someday on how you do it?

@ O'rioles: I do not planning any tutorial about my blue glow. Colors for it are on this thread. Try to copy some point from the back of riptide. There are big circles on the sides of legs and it is nice showcase how to place highlights.

@ catland88: Welcome back! Look at building of the Crisis Suit and the Riptide. There are some hints for that in the texts. In short, airbrush and blending.

@ Orpheus Hangar: same advice as for catland88, please look at the start of the thread. A lots of progress photo and used colors you can find there.

And for the my new XV95. Cleaning is done. Black basecoat is done. Some airbrushing of greys is planned for next days :) Sorry no progress photo for now, all parts are simply black :)

The Ghostkeel is completely basecoated. After many hours of cleaning and preparing it is time for the fun! :)
Drone on the left side has some parts painted as a warm up for me. Drone on the right is only basecoated as rest. Yea, no green on this model ;)

How did you get that effect, taped off areas with an airbrush?

However you did it, it looks great, and will really make the Ghostkeel stand out from the rest of your force.
