They have? That is frustrating - I can only hope there is replacement range coming!

What an absolutely brilliant and inspiring thread, thanx. :D
I have a Tallarn army and am painting my Tau & Tyranids in the same desert colours.
Re. heads for your Gue'la Mad Robot miniatures could be your friend, their Shemage & Desert Veteran head swaps could work well for you and the scale is spot on

I'll post mine when I have more than a test one of a number of units. Great repair work btw. :-(

Thanks Lore!
I had looked into numerous alternate options, but didn't like the sculpts as much as the Forge World Tallarns. I'll look forward to seeing your models!

Didn't quite get as much done as I thought last weekend, but here is a quick update on the slow progress made during the week:

Image Final head variant (very hard to photograph with all those shadows...)

And five fingered hands!

I'll be starting on posing this weekend, but I make no promises of photos :P

I would make them more Pathfinder as AM-Infantry has the same armour save & similar special weapons rules.
I really like the special weapons guy, head is excellently crafted, although the barrel needs sorting, not properly rectangular.
The other two look off-balance especially the leaning Gue'ui who has a very static pose.
Nice work.

Thanks Lore
- The shoulder pads was more of a stylistic thing, having modelled the rest of them in otherwise breacher armour (which as far as I'm aware is still better than Guardsmen's) I'm not sure if that would work. I was thinking more of a veteran/stormtrooper parallel, which would give them access to better armour.
- Yep the barrel does need sorting.

- This is possibly a problem with the remodelled feet. Are you referring to the top or middle picture specifically?

Hi again, the officer with the pistol; his lean is really noticeable on the far right picture of the strip.
For an officer, actually for Tau he seems very laden. Does he need all that kit? Surely there's a drone for that?

They are running legs, so the 'lean' was an intended part of that. I've always seen 'ui rank as more of an NCO, meaning a standard trooper load out wouldn't be unusual

I love the idea of this unit but I'm sure I'd not be able to make them look half this good even if I took more time over it! I can't wait to see them all painted up.

Thanks n1md4 & Shas'O Darklighter!

Time has been the main problem here, apart from adding XV25 optics to some of the heads it is actually quite a simple conversion.

-Me neither, They'd look a lot better if you painted them though :)

Did you cut off fingers to make more room and sculpt new ones (other than thumb and trigger finger)? I admire your patience in adding not just a pinky but potentially resculpting most of them for your Gue'Vesa, hat's off man :)

Yep, apart from thumbs and trigger finger I reduce the other fingers to slivers (for a positioning guide), then re-sculpt.

Quick update of two more. Bringing the squad up to five so far. Arms are not yet attached to aid painting.

I've got another three on the table, which will be it for this squad. Hopefully on to painting soon!
