5 DOWN 15 TO GO!!! :nice:
Completed my Marker Drone's using the Paulson Games' Mecha Heads, think they look very unique and weren't nearly as expensive as full GW ones. Now if only I can get the other 15 painted alongside the Riptide, 3 Broadsides, Ghostkeel and Commander before the 23rd of June! :::(

By the way started painting my commander and I'm wondering about 2 things; 1) Does it really need the sensor arms? 2) Where should I paint the orange detailing to tie it better to the Crisis Drones?

I like your army a lot and appreciate ALL of the work you're putting into it!! WOW!!!

As for your commander. Keep your sensor arrays. Think of them as the command link to all of the drones that he/it is controlling and the distance that it needs to communicate it's orders.

One querstion...and you may have answered this already, please forgive me if you have, but where on earth did you get all of the drones from!!? And the designs, yours or purchased? Some of those designs are fantastic! (They are all cool....Hopefully you know what I mean) :-)

ESTABLISHING BATTLEFIELD CONTROL!
Well my Command Drone is now up and running, I made two small missile pod drones to represent it's weapons otherwise it will be a simple Buffmander.
I'm glad I decided to ditch the small sensor arms during painting, this feels a more drone like, after all the command drone is nothing more than a master hub for the army's Drone Network.

HEAVY HITTER!
The most powerful drone has now been added to the Kor'vesa Initiative's arsenal; The Tank Drone (Riptide). Escorted by a Repair Drone to represent it's FNP, modelled after the Builder Drones from DOW Dark Crusade. I've also added some snow to the base to help blend the ice and rocks together and cover up the areas where the crackling paint hadn't worked so well. What do you think to the snow effect on the base?

Wow it's so huge...you really need to take a few group shots and mid-play shots!

This concept is beyond awesome. What are the heads in the Support Drones that go with the Stealth Drone? They look pretty amazing but I can't place those bits. Almost looks like you used a simple peg for the central eye. Brilliant!

It's the targeting scope of a Broadside HYMP, had a few left over when I cut them off for the Broadside drones.

Very well executed theme! Loving that dx18 stealth drone! How long does each conversion usually take you?

Overall your work just inspires me. Have you thought about being able to swap weapons on the dx18 or even the dx12

Speaking of my Ghostkeel Drone, I've now moved on to start painting the DX-18 Stealth Striker. :D

Problem is I'm looking for suggestions and feedback as I'm can't decide how to go about painting the detailing. Should I try and keep it stealthy with greys and dark blues as with the bare minimum white and orange. Or paint it in similar fashion to the other drones with White detailing with a bit of Orange here and there? :?

Keep going with this paint scheme. You're killing it in terms of execution and the scheme itself works well. The blue and white are very striking with just enough orange to offset things and keep them interesting.

Most of the fluff I've read in the Tau books shows a lot of stealth models painted in the normal color scheme of the army anyway. Drones seem to always match the unit they're with. Ghostkeels and other stealth units are often seen in the same colors as the armies they're from.

ALL STEALTH DRONES NETWORKED & OPTIMISED
DX18 Stealth Striker ready for deployment aka my Ghostkeel. This was by far the most difficult one to paint so far; 1st because of it's shape as I had to re-highlight certain areas where I was holding it and 2nd I wasn't sure how to paint it.

Image

In the end I went with the standard scheme which turned out well. My favourite part of this build is the Stealth Field Drones!

Now all I need to do is get the 3 Broadsides painted in a week ready for a tournament (plus assemble 15 more marker drones). :::(

I'm a bit sad you didn't go for a stealth effect on that one since now it looks pretty similar to the Tank-Drone of yours. Still looks awesome though!

Gorgeous paint job. Reminds me of that 90's video game... Descent I think it was called.

Man, the heavy hitter are some serious looking machines. Great stuff of late.

Also, is it me or does the Command Drone have a classic Anime contemplative smiley face? Like a wisened hero:

Proiteus, I cannot begin to cover how impressed I am with your army. The idea and execution are both phenomenal. I'm looking forward to the direction you take this project. I looked through the evolution from the Mk1 drone to the current army and while the early concepts are nice, the final product is a far greater model.
