Relasine's T'au

I'm neck-deep in getting my army together for 8th with a suit- and drone-heavy list. I also have some Firewarriors and Devilfish in the wings for future expansion.

Bases used are from Secret Weapon Miniatures, specifically the Tau Ceti line. Stealthy models (Stealth Suits/Ghostkeels) are painted specifically to match the base color scheme, but all other models will have a "The Fang" color scheme is a primary (pics coming). Here are the first few models:

Wow, really nice looking models! With the fancy colors I am getting a strong "Elite Cadre" vibe which I really like :D

Would really love to see your other scheme and especially firewarriors.

Keep up the good work!
Cheers!

The gold is a REALLY interesting choice...and since you didn't overdo it, it actually looks pretty nice!
I'm no thinking where to apply that in my color scheme as well. :D

These look beautiful! They are inspiring me to paint more of my unpainted models. Well done, keep up the awesome work!

Cannot wait to see your other stuff. Please don't make us wait too long!

This is what the normal scheme will look like for non-stealth models. Base color is Citadel The Fang highlighted half-way to Fenris Grey.

Absolutely stunning work! Love how the blue and red clash together.
What do you exactly mean by highlighting half way?

Can't wait to see the infantry.

Cheers

That sure was a big post! Really nice work on the glowing effects around lenses and gun barrels!

Bases are very nice, are they your own design, or have I missed something?

Very cool paintjobs, loving the scheme! That freakin' sweet gold, though; how do? How do I gold?

Looks great, also love the glowing effect. Doing it with the standard blue idea on the fusion blasters my self now but not with the lenses.. a bit to unsure about doing that myself on how it will turn out.

I'm envious of those clean lines. Interesting to see a different colour scheme too. Overall, really nice work!

Beautiful OSL you have going on with your glowing bits, especially the face on the commander. Top notch work.

Can you describe the paints and method for the stealth suits. If possible could you also elaborate on how you painted the gold especially.

Thanks.

The gold is as easy as it gets. P3 Blighted Gold. GW Agrax Earthshade in the recesses. P3 Brass Balls Highlight.

The "white" is actually closer to taupe. P3 Trollblood Highlight base over black. Really thin. Lots of layers. Patient, slow work. Double edge highlights with Trollblood Highlight + White, then Trollblood Highlight + More White.

Reds are Vallejo Model Color Red double highlighted up to GW... something? I can't remember. It's a pretty bright red.

All reds and whites avoid the panel lines so that it's really just primer showing.

It's not fancy work. Simple techniques. Slow and careful.
