OB-VX3 Drone installation on the sands of S'corra

Will be using this thread as a way of tracking progress with painting, modelling and also fluff.
Will be updating this first post as I go as a kinda 'Master Post'. Updates on changes shall be in the newer posts.

Current Status - Nothings bloody finished! Basing and feet on pretty much everyone still to do, but I wanted to get 'em up online so I can faff around naming everything.

End Goal -
1 - 2k Point value of Tau with a focus on Fast Attack/'Stealth' Units.
Lots of unnecessary custom Objective Markers/Drones
To stop forgetting to paint Tau feet/hooves.

Comments, criticism, etc all welcome.
Pictures are in the Spoilers to avoid lagging the thread.
Enjoy!

Looking like a great desert camo type scheme. The objective drones are pretty novel too. What really brings it all together is the subtle use of blue, though you may want to incorporate it a tad more as the support turret currently stands out from the rest due to how much blue it has compared to everything else.

@Ironsky Thank you sir! Hope to have a couple updates over the next week or so.

@Agentarrow
Thank you! Making those extra drones from spare bits has been one of my highlights from coming to 40k/Tau. I plan on having my drones having the same kinda look as the support turret. Blue rims, etc. Debating having them different based on the units purpose. Such as blue with fire warriors, but a more muted brown rim with scout/stealth units.

Yeah, loving the drone outposts, might be stealing that idea at some point :crafty:

So, heres the first update.

Drones, drones and more drones. Until recent I hadn't painted any drones, and for whatever reason I decided to tackle 'em all at once.. I now hate painting drones.
The more eagle eyed of you will notice some of 'em have blue rims and others have brown. The idea there is they'd be done to suit whichever unit their apart of. For example, drones that'll be used with units such as Pathfinders and (Eventually) Ghostkeel, etc will be the more muted brown because.. Stealth!
Here they are, as they're not done-done yet!

Next up is what I've been upto today. My acts as Cadre Fireblade..

So, he's just a Fire warrior with everything I could find stuck to him. He's also gonna' have two shoulder pads, one of 'em has a satchel attached and the other has a pistol holster.. Which brings me onto the 'problem' I noticed after making him. The Fireblade doesn't have a pistol.. Soo.. I stuck a marker light to it. That's fine now, right?

C&C welcome as always. I'll be posting more once he's painted up.
