Intermediate General overview:
Ordering online was simple, just select which weapons options you require and put it into your cart.
Payment is by direct bank transfer or Paypal and at this time the cost was €20 (approx. US$27) per suit.
Delivery was fast, well packed and reasonably priced.
The parts are attached to large resin sprues similar to FW models and will require a razor saw to separate due to the thickness of the resin.
Overall quality is great (I have only found one or two bubbles so far) and the resin is harder than Finecast.
Detailing is good with only small amounts of clean up required.
The model, when constructed, is larger than the XV8 and is fully posable.Note:
does not include base (60mm)
The model comes in the parts shown below and weapons are supplied in pairs (left and right handed).
I have included pictures of all the weapon options.Torso:
Loads of details including vents and panel lines although there is no vision block as on the XV8.
Slightly larger in height and depth than the XV8.
The waist will be difficult to cut and reposition.Upper legs:
Loads of details including pipework and panel lines.
The rear of the legs are well detailed.
They are slightly thinner and longer than the XV8.Upper arms:
Great panel lines if maybe a little too deep at times.
Main concern is the thickness of the elbow joint for magnetisation, it’s only 2mm deep.I managed to magnetise the elbows in the end using 2mm diameter x 1.5mm thick rare earth magnets, 1 in the upper arm and 1 in the weapon. Has worked well so far for weapon swapping with no barrel droop.Jet pack:
Fantastic detailed, 2 part moulding.
The exhausts are well laid out.
With them being separate it should allow for repositioning for different poses.Head, Lower legs and antenna:
The head has a single large lens and is smaller than the XV8 head.
The lower legs are ok but the antenna is plain with no extra detailing.
It may be worth swapping it for a spare XV8 antenna.Hooves:
three toe design with a large middle toe at the front and 2 smaller toes at the rear on either side.
On first glance it looks like there is no left or right hoof.Lower arm including Gatling gun:
longer but slimmer than the XV8 burst cannon.Lower arm including Flamer:
massive compared to the XV8 flamer.
Would make a great heavy flamer.Lower arm including Missile pod:
longer Than the XV8 missile pod. The missile heads are smaller.Lower arm including Plasma:
massive compared to the XV8 Plasma rifle. Lower arm including Fusion blaster:
smaller than the XV8 Fusion blaster. Conclusion:
Would make a great Commander model. Highly detailed and high quality. I would buy more.
