Shas'O T'Ar'Cha wrote:"K-42 this is Shas'O T'Ar'Cha, message received I'm in the library now, facing heavy resistance, systems running hot, any intel on what is causing the energy build up?"

Negative on the intel, T'Ar'Cha, the energy mass is shifting too much to get an accurate reading. Our onboard Fio analysists speculate that it may be an immensely powerful entity, or that it is the nucleus of some sort of Etheric rift. All we know for certain is that the power levels are off the scale.

"Roger that SITC XV9 suits moving to cover your entry, by the Greater Good it's good to see some friendly faces in here!"

Two XV9 moved towards the entrance, forming a barrier for the SITC team to work behind, while T'Ar'Cha and his body guard kept the masses occupied with unrelenting fire.

"K-42 I'm starting to see something in the centre of the library it's... Mont'au! Is that an aun?! By the Tau'va! what's happened here?!"

On board the Valiant Shield, Captain Darius stood with his brother marines awaiting Dragonfires arrival. The silent one had arrived mere seconds before, the being still confused Darius, but it's loyalty to the commander was near fanatical. It had come to a final push, the reinforcing fleet were contemplating a Code Black, this had to be avoided, the orbital was more than just a normal platform, it was almost a beacon of its kind, home to various lifeforms united under the greater good.

He knew what must be done, as did Lord Dragonfire, tear out the heart of the enemy, purge the chaos filth with flame and faith in the Tau'va.

The P.R.I.A.T on the station had taken heavy losses, but fortunately the rest of section 9 were on board the Valiant Shield, 15 XV25's optimised for fighting the forces of chaos around the Perdus rift, fully equipped with null drones and special ammunition, alongside his own Marine Cohort and the remains of Dragonfires escort provided a small, but elite strike force.

Soon it would be time to strike, all that was needed was a target.

The veteran firewarriors moved like quicksilver, carefully yet deftly handling the experimental explosive devices, activating the containment fields, inserting the exotic matter fuel rods, priming the ignition sequence and finally setting the timers and arming the charges. As they worked, the Shas'vre team leader growled out orders.

"Alright shas, here's the plan. 'Shovah, Mal'caor, 'Ukos, I want you to drop the charges at the far left side, the far right side, and right bang in the centre. Hopefully detonations there should disrupt whatever the Mont'au is happening around here. Meanwhile me and the sharpshooters will help the XVs in covering you."

As the Shas'vre finished, he was met with the first ominous beeps of the charges as they armed themselves.

"Alright then, the charges are counting down shas. As the Gue'la say, let's rock!"

Ar'Kadies watched from his perch as the forces converged on the Library. Covering fire he could provide as needed but what weighed on his mind was the lack of communications he had had. Setting his drone AI to defensive support he turned his attention to a nearby comp link. Thanking the Aun for the technical knowledge required to operate his NML and drone support he quickly patched his targeting array and marker light system into what remained of the ships computer. With a little bit of luck and the attention of the adversary drawn to the latest incursion he hoped the linking he had done would provide enough of a beacon for incoming forces.

T'Ar'Cha's systems blurted a new warning as the charges were armed, "All Suits evac the library now!" No one disputed the order, all thrusting backwards, towards the doorway, laying down plasma and ionic fire. T'Ar'Cha stood the far side of the doorway, expecting the door to close any second, "Oh Mont'au" he said, realising that the Daemonic incursion had disrupted the door system all too late as the explosives detonated. His monitors went white as pain surged through his body, seconds later the stimulant injector kicked in, dulling the pain.

His suit was thrown backwards and slammed into a wall, red warning lights screaming as systems failed, he was stuck in the wall, stuck in the suit with no means of fighting back, no means of communicating with anyone, "I picked one hell of a day to return to the empire".

A message appears on K-42's comms panel **Image received from XV8 Battlesuit assigned to Shas'O T'Ar'Cha** The suits automated systems had taken a photo of the anomaly in the library and uploaded it to the central battle database.

Aun Tier looked up from the mangled body of the Fio'saal before him. Another group of Tau had entered the Library, and were staring at him seemingly unsure of his loyalties. Smiling serenely, he held his hands palm up in welcome to the warriors. They hesitantly moved towards him, coming closer and closer to ensarement...

Pulse fire flew over the False Aun's head, bringing a scowl to his lips. The Tau had arrived in force. Aun Tier absconded to the weaving maze of the library, leaving the loyalists to recover the sacrificial remains of the Fio'saal. As he fled, a smile crossed his lips. A few more metres, and they would be nicely in place.

All units, this is K-42. Good work Storytale, our instruments are registering a reduction in the anomaly's energy build up. It seems to have slowed down, for now at least. We also now have a reliable image capture of the library interior, Fio analysts are studying it now. A squadron of Orca gunships is moving into close proximity with the library to deliver pinpoint ion strikes to markerlit targets and drone control is increasing Remora activity around the library. Good hunting, Tau'va.

Shas'ui E'nigma stirred from his slumber very groggy still hung over from having drank too much at the Pech Cafe last night. Dull pain throbbed through his head as the klaxton compounded it even more. What E'nigma hated worse than hangovers was military exercises during the days he had off.

"Can't I get a single day to relax and have to myself?" He muttered to himself as he donned his combat fatigues and combat armor. He was reaching for his Carbine as an explosion from the Library rocked him off his feet and slammed him hard into the floor.

"Uuufff. What the Mont'au was that?" completely forgetting his barring as the curse left his lips.

"This is Shas'ui E'nigma. Status report what is going on?" Instead of hearing a familiar Shas or Kor on the other end of the line, E'nigma was met with static and a weird garbling noise. Shouldering his Carbine E'nigma hustled to investigate the explosion from the Library. As he got closer the sounds of pusle fire echoed in the halls and an unknown noise mixed in.

When E'nigma crossed the threshold he was met with an unearthly sight. "By the path........"

Information came in via K-42, visual images of the library or what was left of it, currently Tau forces were solidifying the position, but it was clear it wasn't over. The anomaly was still present which meant its creator was still around, and still a risk.

Teleporting always makes me feel odd, but it's the best resource we have, Kallas and Captain Darius remain on board the Valiant Shield, whilst I try to find the creator of this nightmare. My suits A.I confirms a direct link to the ships comms, a comfort as knowing that my allies can provide instant back up is reassuring. Vre'gasar and 10 P.R.I.A.T members accompany me, their null drones and special ammo will neutralise these demonic forces, bless the Fio and their advances.

Taking in the scene of the library is quite a shock, clearly some kind of ceremony was underway before the explosion. Netherless that is not my concern now, for I must hunt and do what I can to prevent the Code Black Order being confirmed. We cannot lose this orbital..

He hits the emergency release button but nothing happens, T'Ar'Cha is stuck inside his suit till help arrives... if help arrives. He has no idea how much damage was done by the explosives, or if any of Tau around him at the time survived the blast. He kept trying the comms but to no avail, "This isn't the end I had planned" he thought to himself, closing his eyes and picturing his bonded brothers, "For the Tau'va" he said softly.

Then, scratching, followed by banging, then a deafening noise that could only be a plasma cutter, maybe T'Ar'Cha's end was not to be today...

The fools had not seen their doom beneath them.

As the Tau forces advanced to the dead Fio'saal, they realised the nature of the lure before them. Shouts of 'retreat!' and 'Fall Back!' could be heard, but it was too late. The summoning was complete, and a Demi-warp rift spilled from the corpse. A small number of the Tau superiors managed to avoid the pull, but near all of those in the ritual circle were sucked into oblivion. The rift lasted but a moment, but when it faded, but a large red splotch was all that remained of the forward Tau assault.

A smile crossed the lips of the False Aun, but confidence was waning. None of the promised forces had arrived to support him. He had left a few corrupted Shas, but they were punily weak compared to his expected Daemon escort.

A mental signal was cast out to all the tainted aboard the Orbital. "We must hold this dome; our Great Lord must finish his work!"

*A blinding light would fill the bridge of K-42, along with a piercingly cold wind.*

Come forth, my fellow Daemons!

Taulings! Submit to the Change, or perish in this metallic grave!

*Floods of twisted beings would pour from the freshly opened warp portal, swarming over the bridge.*

After recovering from his stupor E'nigma recognized the battered battlesuit of Shas'O T'Ar'Cha embedded into the wall of the Library.

"Please let the Shas'o be alive." He then bolted across the floor picking up a plasma cutter from one of the fallen Fio and rushed to the downed Shas'o's position.

"Shas'o are you alive? Can you hear me?" No response came back for all his shouting. "Guess I got to use this thing however I turn it on."

With a little fiddling around he managed to turn the plasma cutter on and began the slow task of opening the battlesuit. E'nigma could hear the cries of his fellow Shas to fall back but he would not leave his Shas'o to die or be left here without checking on his condition.

The transition to the library had been short. However, he ha arrived in the midst of disaster. As if a great explosion had taken to, many lay still. Fallen or otherwise. He also noticed that his comms had gone down the moment he had arrived. A large number of XV8 battlesuits were following, the pilots who had been present taking armaments before arriving in droves. The second riptide was directly behind Vior'la with three fully armed squads of XV8's. He had been too late though. The scene that greeted him, was not Tau fighting and holding the wave. It was death. Death that instilled yet more rage. He had understood commander Farsight's hatred of the green skins now. More than ever. His hatred swelled as his weapons began to charge, colliding through the slightly too small opening off the library as his Heavy armaments opened up into the Daemonic horde infesting the Library. Nova-reactor output charged to weapon output pushing them to their limit as the battlesuits behind him began to unload the wrath of the fire caste upon the hordes. His words were cold, and broadcast over his speakers and comm open channels alike. The hissing sound of detaching missiles from his drones as well as the blast of his fusion blasters echoed in the chaos of plasma and ion blasts flaring towards the horde.

"The taint will pay! Purge them brothers, until not a single trace is left of their unworthy flesh! FOR AUN'VA! FOR THE GREATER GOOD!"

Comm traffic was still somewhat garbled after the strange implosion, still no clear ground force commander, as a Shas'o it should be my duty, but I can't, they do not know my condition, I could fail them. But that XV104 pilot, he could lead them, I see as the troops rally around him. A fine commander he would've made, but he honours the Tau'va in service as an XV104 pilot.
Still the comms give me what I need for this hunt, a false Aun appears to be the figurehead of these forces, speaking for some higher power. If I can find him, I will find his master, and do what I must.. through the haze..there.. I see you false Aun
