My first take on Allies/Formations, help needed! (2000pts)

Hello to all!

Today I present you all my very first take on a list that will be using allies, as well as a Formation. The club I play at normally play a ''purist'' style of game; No Allies, no Formations, no Escalation/SHA, no Apocalypse/FW models, etc etc. I suppose you get the drill. On a sidenote; Even though Imperial Knights have their own Codex, we have a houserule against these unless both players mention and agree on using any beforehand.

So since a lot of us have at least a second army we collect (my luck being I only collect Tyranids and Tau), we decided to try things differently from our normal play, and see how they pan out. If we like it, we might change it to the new norm altogether, or possibly hold an ''allies game'' every now and then. Since we have a few Tyranid players here, we have ruled to allow a single formation per army as well as allies, and Tyranid players can opt to take Endless Swarm as an additional Formation (or it can be taken double) to compensate Allies. I myself wont be using my bugs though, as I'd gladly try out these new elements for a change. Note though that as per normal rules, Allies are optional; I expect to face some ''purist'' armies as well (some players rarely deviate from their habits).

However, because I'm also completely unexperienced in this type of setting, I'm not completely sure on how to approach the battlefield ''prepared''. I've made a rough first draft of what I would want to field, but my lack of experience makes me not so sure about my choices. Below you will find my list, followed by an explanation of each unit and their synergy.

For a summary, here are our houserules and army restrictions:

The above list is 2 points over the limit, but I'm positive nobody will object, and if anyone does I could simply remove the Neuroweb System Jammer. I decided to go all-out on my options with Tau (since it's my only option), and included the only Formation we can use, as well as allying with Farsight Enclaves.

It will be my first time using either, so I also have a few questions:
1) Since every model in my Army is treated as ''Battle Brothers'' (Allies) or either simply ''from my Codex'' (Formation), I can mix my Independent Characters freely among any unit from my army regardless of whether the IC comes from the same Detachment, correct?
2) If the above is true, from what Detachment do I count the Formation from? My initial guess is simply my Primary Detachment, considering the Formation is ''chosen like any other model from Codex: Tau Empire''?
3) Also in regard to number 1, can I mix usage of Marker Tokens among units as I please as well? I searched various forums, but I still can't really find a definitive answer regarding the matter, or is it houseruled? Or can someone provide me with a link to a thread where it is explained thoroughly? It would be much appreciated.

So, without further ado, here's my unit analyses and general strategy:

Commander + Marker Drone Team (applies to both the Warlord and the Farsight Enclaves Commander)
Obviously meant to join the unit of Marker Drones for the Mark'O configuration. The mid to backfield will be it's main territory, allowing for some solid BS Marker Tokens for multiple units to benefit from. The Drones are excellent ablative Wounds, and in case of need the Commander can leave the unit as well.

Sub-Commander + Crisis Team
If Independent Character joining units while mixing between Detachments isn't allowed, the following setup is illegal. The Sub-Commander will join the unit of Crisis and either Deep Strike or spearhead forward. Bringing along a bubblewrap (of sorts) of Drones ensures the unit can take a beating as well as deal an extra punch. The Shas'vre in the unit brings Hit and Run, Twin-Linked, and Ignores Cover to the party, though I have my doubts if the Twin-Linked option will really pay off in this unit (I mainly added it since I added the Multi-Spectrum Sensor Suite automatically). The Target Locks ensure the Fusion Blasters can aim at Heavy Infantry/Monstrous Creatures/Vehicles while the Gun Drones mow down infantry or either help in Overwatch. This unit is meant to play aggressively, and will either dive in deeper for the suicide run, or fall back after the pain is dealt while luring some enemy units into my fire lanes.

Firewarrior Teams
Small in unit size, but I simply don't own more models! I weighed the option to either run two squads of 12 along the Crisis instead, but I opted for at least 4 scoring units in favor of size. If I found the points I could also add two Devilfish, but I intend my FW to camp backfield Objectives, and stay as far back as possible. They are not meant to be ''static'' at all; even though limited by their own 6'' movement, I intend to position them in a way in which they can move to multiple positions to support the rest of the army.

Riptides
Both are outfitted nearly similar, with the Formation one sporting Velocity Trackers and SMS, while the Enclaves one sports the famous Earth Caste Piloting Array and Twin-Linked Fusion Blasters. Both will fill similar roles in Tank/Heavy Infantry Hunting, but the Enclaves Riptide will (ab)use it's Nova Reactor each turn for a 3++ when possible, or otherwise the 4D6 Thrust move as it will be hunting aggressively to psuedo-support the Sub-Commander + Crisis Team. Because the Twin-Linked Fusion Blaster only fire one shot as opposed to the SMS's 4, I suspect the Gun Drones really get a place here, supporting both the Riptide and the Crisis with anti infantry fire. The Riptide from the Formation will protect my mid and Backfield, drawing fire from my more softer units which are deployed there (mainly my Fire Warriors). The SMS means better synergy with the Missilesides and Mark'O, and gives some nice options for the Interceptor shots as well. Both are mainly meant to Intercept with the (Overcharge profile of the) Ion Accelerator, but the different options are aways nice to have in my opinion.

Broadsides
As clearly demonstrated, these guys are meant to handle any light to medium vehicle, whether it's in on the land or in the sky, it matters not. Against Space Marines the PE should force enough saves to compensate the AP4, and heavily armored vehicles are handled by different units. The sheer volume of fire should mean I can threaten infantry as well, and as such both units will cover my flanks with windows allowing coverage of my central field as well. My Fire Warriors will be close to these guys, giving and getting support from each other.

Well then, I guess this the end of my post, and that's where you come in! I am curious to your advice and tips, and hope to receive answers for my questions. Should anything still be unclear, please feel free to ask anything.

Thanks for your time!

How has the list been doing? Here's what I see.

-Replacing one of your commanders with a Ethereal will grant your broadside backfield ldr 10 and keep them from running. Also it opens up some more points

- your spending over 100 points on velocity trackers. you could switch this with EWO for much cheaper. Twin linked 6's still do the job and allow you to destroy deepstrikers too. For the points you save you could add a Skyray.

-Oh and while its fresh on my mind watch out for "JAWS" from the Space Wolf psykers. I lost 2 Riptides in one turn to it Tuesday.
