Duredhel's Art - Is back!

So after a long time, I've decided to come back to my beloved ATT and finish some long overdue stuff I had to do for the community. I want to apologize for the sudden disappearance, I moved to a different country, got a full time job, girlfriend I want to get married to, etc etc, all stuff that takes a lot of time.

First order of business, is to update some stuff. See if you can recognize them!

The plan is to overhaul ALL 48 avatars I had done previously, at the rate of at least one a day :)

(Now just wait, your gonna start getting a bunch of PM's asking for pictures. :D )

Third-ed! That is some amazing artwork. I especially like the blue-helmeted Space Marine and the last, non-40k drawing. May I ask what it is related to?

Also, what medium did you use for the first 4(5) drawings?

Lol, I personally had to refrain from sending one when I saw them

I second this question, I'm always looking for new mediums to work with for my landscape architecture sketches

Thanks everyone for the kind words :D! I might accept some requests eventually, but I don't want to make compromises I might not be able to keep due to lack of time.

@Militant Jester

The non-WH40K pic belongs to a series of illustrations I'm making for an upcoming iPhone TCG.
And I use a Wacom Tablet, Painter and Photoshop. I use a technique called Grisaille. Which means I paint the whole image very quickly in Painter using only gray-scale (which saves a lot of time) and them I simply overlay colors in photoshop.

So the color gradients are just caused by the underlying grayscale? Hmm sounds like a technique I need to look up.

Hahaha!! I was just looking at the greyscale ork again. I love the Teddy bear extras!

Holy cow! Amazing work, if I do say so myself. Great detail on the contours and lines of the faces. Love your style.

Dude. I am really jealous of your works man! Trying my best with my tablet and photoshop but meh, I'm always losing the concentration and skills like yours! But I like playing around with ideas, and a good first post.

Anyway, I really dig the Shas'ui, and I agree with others you're gonna get a lot of PM. :)

Which is definitely a good thing as an artist.

That is a really cool idea in itself.
And thank you for the input!

Duredhel,

What can I say?!

I have literally just posted a comment on LordDirks thread complementing all the wonderful artists we have on ATT and then you turn up, another immensely talented artist.

I will be looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks for the compliments :D!

I think someone asked for the programs I use. For the pics here i used Painter 11 and Photoshop CS3. I also use Sai and Open Canvas, but only when I want to do crisp inks or computer sketching.

Got a Doom of Malantai avatar i'm doing for a friend, a Tau girl and a hypothetical Tau unit (only art, no rules XD) i'm working on. I'll UL the lot this weekend :3

What is this Tau Marlin you speak of? It intrigues me.

Also, are any of these Avatars free for people to use?
Just my 'Tau' Cents! :P
