Painting gold

Hi people! I have a little problem in painting the gold parts of our battlesuits. Now I use Gehenna gold and Auric armour gold but the results are pretty crappy. I saw people using Retributor armour, but this paint is not available in my FLGS and even not on GW site.

What gold do you use? Any suggestions? Should I base with Balthasar gold first and then put the other layers? I would like do get a nice and shiny gold paint.

Edit: Now I remebered. My Gehenna gold, when stays for a couple of days, becomes like redish. Is it normal?

I definitely recommend Retributor Armour + Reikland Fleshshade like in this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HOLM7dXiyk
Never got better results painting gold this easily!

Not sure in which region you live but I found Retributor Armour on the german, US and UK pages of the GW webshop. Don't try to find it in the menu, it's not listed under "Gold" for some reason except for the spray. Just type it in the searchbar at the top.

Gehenna gold becoming redish is normal, yes. Just shake it for a while.

Just saw it's listed under Basepaints though so if the searchbar doesn't work you can try it that way. ^^

I got the Retributor Armour color and started painting the gold parts. I would say that painting with that color is "easy mode".

Yeah it definitely is. Don't forget the Reikland Fleshshade and maybe even a silver/metallic highlight to make it really pop. ;)

Try a mix of sycorax bronze and Jokaro Orange with a bit of Auric Armour. Makes a nice dull gold when done nice, and somehow keeps the reflectivity that it has when wet. Problem is, the mix is really hard to get right.
Star Trek has returned. Imagine enterprise times Movie 5. Then times by cancer. That's how bad this series is.
